GAME DAY, ROUND 1, 2015

The Oracle

Recommended Posts

You'd think Bradshaw had played 200 games, so calm and collected.

Very impressive. Good day to be a Melbourne supporter.

Brayshaw already has 4 tackles, 2 frees - in which Jones played on from.

This kid is very good. Safe to say we've landed one off the bat.

Have you not seen Viney smashing Ablett every time Ablett gets the ball

Yes its been brilliant

We finally have a tough team, Aaron Vandenberg has laid some big hits!

Garland playing his best game since 2013. Brayshaw and Vanders look they've both played 100 games. Positives everywhere at the moment. Need to keep this up.

Please keep it all coming.

Hanging on to every word in SAIGON. Bars that showed Tigers apparently don't subscribe to second string Foxtel network we are on.

Afl site crashed - no scores and Demonogy feed not working.

No comaints from me if we're in front - but please keep up the live commentary and scores.

The transition is a lot better this time around. We just need our forward line to gel so we can convert some of those chances.

Most fun I've had watching a half of footy in a long time, almost don't wanna post this because I'll jinx the rest of the game.

Garlett should spend a lot more time in the middle as the year goes on.

Brayshaw having an excellent impact on debut, should be a thread about it...

Lumumba on the wing is excellent.

I'm not worried about Viney on Ablett, no one will do any better and Viney is more likely to hurt him than anyone else.

We look classy off half back for the first time in a long time. No Grimes holding it up for 15 seconds then chipping sideways.

What I'm most happy about is we're going hard as [censored], and putting a score on the board.

Come on Dees keep it going!

Jamar and Garland back to their best.

Both have been very handy. Pity Russian didn't snag that last shot on goal but he's been massive in the contest.

One thing I've noticed this game is that our tackling technique is miles better than I can remember it being before. It used to be that only Jones, Jetta and Viney could really tackle with the correct technique. Now I feel like everyone can do it (with a few exceptions of course—it's still a work in progress).

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
