As much as its good to see the likes of Howe and Viney up gotta remember that Jones Bail and Cross didn't run today. And also Dan Nicholson who is normally top 2 every year.

True. Although in the video it seemed Howe was only about 4 secs behind McDonlad, with Viney 5 second behind again.

That's pretty damn good for those guys (even if Tmac admitted to running a slow-ish time)

Tommy Mac is a gun and with the recruitment of Frost, our back line is really taking shape.

Notwithstanding some posters wanted to put Tommy on the trade table.

Is there a player on our list that some posters have not wanted to trade?......Some just to get a better draft pick, which we have been crap at for the past 6 years.

Newton probably wont be at training for another week or so.

Remember his team obviously played off in the Prelim meaning he gets an extra couple of weeks rest.

Why didn't Jones run?

<cue panic> <cue MFCSS>

Because he didn't have to, he doesn't start officially for another week, Roh Bail told me on Wednesday he wouldn't be taking part as he is not one of the 1 to 4 year players, doubt if any of the 'senior' players participated

Was Hogan sighted?

You mean some players might turn up with a guide dog? Would explain a few things ... :):)

No, he was blind!

Well, allow me to rephrase my question in a less ambiguous manner

Was he seen by any witnesses from this site doing anything that may indicate that he is free of back problems?

Given he was reported to have come in 5th in the time trial I reckon his back must be ok...

Would've come first if his legs weren't broken and he didn't start his run from North Fitzroy.

I don't really care for the order of the finish just how many ran PB's that is the sign of improvement.

I'd like 'em to learn how to pass the ball to each other without turning it over.

Rapt that Viney and Howe finished second and third in the time trial....if we are to push for finals it's guys like this who we know have immense talent who have to reach the next level.

From the 1.5km mark footage:

McDonald, Howe, Hogan, Viney, Evans, Salem, M Jones, Michie, Tyson, Hunt, Kent, Harmes

Which probably makes sense. Hogan gets overtaken by Viney at least towards the end I guess but it's great to know that he's running right up there not far from McDonald because that's the standard of the best key defender runners he'll have to play on.

The more young midfielders get up to AFL standard the more chance we have of winning games.

Only strange one is that Toumpas didn't feature up the front there but possibly he didn't do the run.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Max King. Thought I saw him for a second on the news and he looked to have developed physically quite a bit. He is about 200cms and looked to have put on a fair bit of muscle.

Mentioned him earlier in my first post. Absolutely miles behind Hogan, Kent and Hunt in repeat 200's. By the second one he was 50+ behind.

Yeah he looks a little more solid. Wont be a bean pole. But he'll need all preseason working on endurance (and likely a few more). Definitely a project player type.

So how can it be that hogan has a whole year out and smashes anyone in his running group?

Concerns me greatly as obviously king has a very low fitness base. May be hard to ever make it coming from that far back.

Can you really catch up from so far back in a professional sport?

M Jones will take another big step this year.

In decision making hopefully.

That's about the only real knock I've got on the bloke.

I'm a bit bemused by reports of players putting on an observable amount of muscle in the short 2 months between the end of the season and the beginning of training. I guess it is possible, even outside of the EFC, but I just wonder.

One of Hogans biggest strengths pre-draft was endurance.

It is not difficult to make large changes to body shape and size over 8 weeks

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
