I am an extremely passion Dees supporter

We have not won at Etihad in donkeys years

Brisbane are at $2.12 to beat Melbourne

I am a gambling man

I just put $100 on Brisbane to beat Melbourne at $2.12 to pay out $212

If we lose, I win $112

If we win, I will be overjoyed at breaking our Etihad hoo-doo that I will not care about the $100

Am I a bad supporter?

(Have you ever done something similar?)

Yes you are a bad supported but if you think they are overs then you are a good gambler

Are you a paid up Melbourne member? If not you are not a supporter you are a follower.

As far as your gambling goes, you win either way.

I once tipped against us in the tipping competition and felt ill the whole weekend. (FYI - we didnt win and I got the point in the tipping comp - it was a dirty soiled corrupt little point)

I did something similar in round 1.

$50 on st Kilda at $2.30. Way above the odds.

Also I was going to put money on Brisbane at $2.60 before they beat Gold Coast, but couldn't be bothered.

You are essentially paying $100 for the joy of a win, I don't see anything bad about that.

My two cents - The problem with hedging bets is it dilutes the joy of a win because you become conflicted. Sport in its purest form is honest and pure and there is something underhanded about betting against your team. Ive done it and felt dirty afterwards.

Enjoy your half win on Sunday!

Been there. You can't wash off that dirty feeling.

It always amazes me when people think they can outsmart the bookies.

Yes, Tom Waterhouse is a schmuck who we all feel smarter than... or wait, maybe he just presents himself as the schmuck front-man for an organisation that actually has a huge database of information you an I could never hope to reach, and a range of experts carefully examining every factor pooped out by banks of computers with advanced analytics programs.

But I'm sure it's appropriate to feel confident that you understand the odds better than brat-boy Tom, and that nice Jaime girl from the Tab, the one with all the teeth, who is just letting you know the odds in between pulling beers.

There is an old Scottish custom (one of many ) to always bet on England. That way, if the pr1cks win, at least you get some cash ...

This is blasphemy, a sin of the highest order.

Here's an idea. If Brisbane get up...................... which i bloody well hope they don't (would ruin my weekend), the money you profit can be donated to the footy club as your way of repenting.

If Brisbane lose, well sure you lose your money, but it will be your justified punishment, plus i'll be happy celebrating a win!

No, just a tragic one.

Aren't we all?

I bet against us all the time but usually as part of a multi bet - considering our performances over the last decade you'd be an idiot if you put money on us.T

The only time this has hurt me is Queens Bday 2012, I needed Collingwood to win by over 45 points or something and I would pocket over $600 for a $5 bet. Sammy Blease kicks a great goal from the boundary with under a minute to go to bring the margin to 41 points and I lose out. Was cursing that goal for weeks.

$5 sound reasonable, most could forget about five bucks... $100 though, thats a tank of petrol and a good lunch... I guess i just don't get gambling...

so many things you could do with 100 bucks.

you could have 5 really nice lunches, or 10 average lunches, or 3 very nice dinners, 30 odd coffees.

5-10 bucks are my bets, on the occasion that i bet.

where is lordweaver when you need him?

Indeed dc! Perhaps Stuie could be Demonland's moral compass in the absence of the good lord?

Or .... You could also spend your 100 bucks on a range of delights at The Gat. I'm not sure they are edible though!

I can remember very clearly the last time I bet on the footy.

I had placed a $25 pick four which went out the window on the saturday. Wanting my $25 back I placed $200 on adelaide to beat melbourne over at footy park. Adelaide were 1 to 8 for a win and screaming hot favourites.

Well we won by about 50 points with Farmer having a day out. I cannot remember the year ( 1990s) but it was the last time I ever bet on the footy.

Don't bet against melbourne.

Or over in Perth an average breakfast for 2.

And yes, very bad supporter.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
