Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Watts should be played forward anyway.

He was one of the most impressive junior forwards I've seen.

It is only because our midfielders have lacked skills, poise and decision making that Watts was moved outside the forward line.

Watts is fine as a forward, he'll go very well.

We will need to stop bombing it in though, we will need to move the ball fast and get it into Vince/Toumpas hands and use Watts and Howe is mobile forwards.

JKH as flanker running back hard - Pagans paddock style, open the forward line up... Have our forward line work to our advantage.

Roos looked rattled tonight on 360, so we'll find out how good of a strategist he really is on the weekend.

Watts forward? He can't even win a one on one contest against a mid at ground level, how the hell will he do it against a bigger defender in the air?

short memory man, last week he was bloody good in the midfield.

Players in unaccustomed positions? Careful, we'll done for tanking

won't need to worry about tanking this year because there is no way we are going to avoid the spoon...........its ours already, we will not move from where we are on the ladder now.

I dont want him as a forward if he is going to close his eyes and drop chest marks

I have a feeling this is our line in the sand moment.

Reckon we will run out and rip heads off on Sunday.

If they come out and say as much, then we'll be heading for a loss. How long now have we come out and talked the talk, and have failed to follow it up with actions?

I'm sick of talk, from anyone at the club. How about shutting up and doing what is expected from them for a change, for more than 1 week at a time?

Certainly didn't seem rattled to me .....I always feel calm after I hear him talk !!

seems to me to be more frustrated by the 'actions' Not matching the 'rhetoric from the players', before Roos signed on.

he said the payers are in a rut & can't or won't change from it... so he will make change happen, because the players actions aren't following their wishes. they wish they were better, but don't want to do the hard things to achieve it.

words are cheap

action is what this club needs, or it will bleed to death Via a thousand cut players.

Turn it up Cards,

he'll be so worried about a clip from behind he'll be 10 metres in front of any opponent, on the lead for the easy chest mark!!

Oh shyte...hang on

I think Roos said a fresh team the implication being it would cut ties with what just happened to change the mind set. He is trying to get them to forget the past. My bet is he will put Dunn at FF and watts across HF with Gawn at CHF. We need the to provide the crumbs for blease. I expect terlich to be moved forward as well. Perhaps trenners to terlichs position. Howie to the wing. Could be an interesting week.

Absolutely loved the back and forth between Roosy & Bomba on AFL 360 when discussing Sunday's loss.

Both completely on the same page and this common sense approach should be an eye opener to quite a few of the exciteable types on this forum.

A video that captures most of it can be seen here:

I don't think he was rattled by any means, but the blank response from the other three when he announced he was going to be putting players in completely different positions was telling.

I have reservations, I'll be honest. I'm not sure it's a great move this early, but if it is to the benefit of actually hitting the scoreboard, that can only be a good thing.

Everyone involved at the AFL KNOWS that the rooster would NEVER condone tanking.

If he plays players in different positions it's to complete his dossiers, not to try and lose.

Information gathering could last all season.

And when he told one of his players to go forward and NOT kick a goal he was only joking :)

You mean, run out, start a fight, and then lose? :P

I don't think you could be done for tanking after round two with our score line and besides I thought I heard Roosy say it 'could' be a different line up or words to that effect. Personally I would like to see Tommy M given a run up there with Watts and Fitzpatrick. Maybe play Howe up the ground and see if he works hard both ways. At least it would give us some size and a contest up there. even if its only a temporary measure. As for Roosy being rattled, I don't think he was but he would be aware that the pressure on him is increasing. Wouldn't like to be a player if we lose this week.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
