It's Time, just wondering...are you a member of the Melbourne FC?

Why wouldn't he be... not sure what the relevance of the Groucho quote might be, but there are plenty of us interstate MFC members.

What i get from this thread is that the club needs to invest in a large bucket and a Foldable japanese dressing shade.

Some supporters such as the master are trying to fix the beautifully unbroken.

I understand the Master wants Howe to hit the ball with speed for easy marks but trying to teach him not to leap is like telling Picasso to cut out the cubism.

on the urine issue-the bucket ,when full, can be given to ASADA for a team sample .

Daisy-I "liked" your "stream of consciousness"on the issue and the "fluid solutions" you provided.

Surely we should spend a penny to water the horses in case we a are caught short again. It's a No 1 issue.

Some BIG issues on Land these days....

FMD When does the footy start?

I could understand your angst if this were in the middle of the footy season, but it's not... there's nothing wrong with a bit of light relief in the off season... except for the obviously nasty stuff which shouldn't happen at any time.

Why?

It's Time uses Groucho Marx as his avatar. Groucho famously said he wouldn't join any club who would have him as a member.

Clearly what amuses me doesn't appear to have the same affect on others. My apologies to all concerned.

The act of engaging between two in this case. It doesn't interest me in who started. The point is you've engaged.

For you to think its an amusing pastime is even more baffling. Schadenfreude is what it is.

To see you act like you're above it is even more amusing...

Who engaged who ?

This is all just an amusing pastime for me, but if others feel offended even better.

A pastime?

You have been a member on this site for just over 2 years and since 'contributed' over 4 thousand rude, narcissistic and anti-social posts.

Get another hobby - I can't imagine this is too healthy.

Agreed

Its pathetic but that is what the world has come to

A lot of pathetic people who care more about others appearance than the person that they are..

These clowns wont even leave a positive legacy on planet earth as they have no talent, brains or redeeming qualities.

I'm getting irony overload.

I know its hard if comments are directed at you specifically but please just don't bite at what's said by anyone.

Some people just post to cause a reaction and continually get it. Be the bigger person, please just ignore it to stop derailing threads.

As for those making the smug comments, get over yourselves. You got what you're after, congratulations. Hope you are pleased with yourself/ves.

Apologies to derail this thread further but its quite frustrating sifting through this crap.

Nah...... this is not even close, speaking as someone who has been on the end of some classics....there are not nasty vitriol filled private messages involved here....yet...

Anyway back on the training theme..............I thought I would pass on this comment from Chip Frawley as he passed me after doing some of the 2-300 metres runs....."I'm getting old".....

For all the watchers at training by the way, Tommy Mc who looked great during the runs reckons he is still slightly off the pace.

I liked it... but then again I loved Groucho.

This is why the like button is useful... would have saved me from having to type a response of "thanks for clearing that up... I totally overlooked his avatar." :-)

Thanks all for the reports - those of us who can't get there appreciate it.

Re the players urinating "in public": surely the club could afford 4 stakes and a few meters of shade cloth to improvise a urinal at the side of the oval. It could be moved each session to prevent grass damage (or overgrowth if one believes in the fertilizing benefits of urea). As one poster commented, when Caro next gets bored with her own company ( which I have to say would be pretty easy to do) she could come out with a "feature scoop" on "MFC players exposing themselves in public": it is pretty harmless & minor in the scheme of things but probably just not a good look.

What about that toilet on the Swan street side. Have they removed it?

Picasso gave away Cubism in 1973 in favour of Deconstructionism which he has successfully been doing ever since. Not to mention that Picasso paid his dues as a superb draftsman prior to his dabbling and then immersing himself in Cubism; that is, in Howe's case. he might need to go back to perfecting his basic skill set in order to give more substance to his more creative approach to the game.

Spot on.

I don't understand that people bemoan Howe's rubbish form in the second half of 2013 but when I make a statement about his marking in various situations needing work it's like I've shot Bambi. For a guy with such brilliant hands he just needs some work on positioning and attacking simple marks.

Someone asked why I didn't choose McKenzie. 1. Because he wasn't in the main group. 2. Because a lot of his flaws (kicking and decision making) I'm sure are being worked on but will either never be fixed or take time. A few simple sessions with Howe might find him taking a 1 or 2 more marks a game instead of being out manouvred and in case of improving his technique of not jumpin too early and hanging in the air for simple marks made lead him to get the ball on quickly an lead to goals

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
