I think this is beyond any one person to fix up. The club now has to communicate with its members/supporters much better in order to keep everyone updated on what they are doing to fix up this total train wreck. If the club does not do this in the right manner then it will take a small miracle to get people signed up for 2014.

As for this list of highly paid, highly trained and highly pampered young men, they have taken this famous club to its knees and do not deserve the respect of the supporter base.

I watch teams like North Melbourne and many others who at least give their heart and soul to supporters. The MFC list are the complete opposite.

Once there were MFC warriors, at least I have those memories to hold onto.

If Peter Jackson wasn't at our club, we'd be screwed, at least Jackson is working to fix these issues.

Neeld was sacked because we were going ordinary and Jackson sort to fix the board and we haven't got a board in place yet.

So give PJ time, he knows his stuff, if Paul Roos is impressed, then we are on the right track.

A pathetic soulless mess. If it was an animal you'd do the humane thing and put it down to save it suffering any further.

I've just about had it with this club. I really have. It's just a joke that never ends, with players that either don't give a [censored], or give a [censored] but aren't good enough to do anything about it.

The anger is well and truly turning to apathy. We lost to GWS today and I barely care.

At the risk of being howled down, didn't most of us think this would be the way it went? Our last 4 games have been poor and the club is in the middle of significant change. We were insipid but the sky is not falling in.

Thats the kind of sober thinking that is usually reserved for Tuesdays.

Everyone was enjoying a meltdown and then you come along with your rational reasoning.

After careful consideration, I wish to make the following amendment. The sky is, in fact, falling in. We're doomed. Doomed I say.

I've been saying all along, it's the players. The list is incredibly fragile and shallow. Coach killers, supporter killers and hope killers. The change has to come from somewhere and I guess we just hope PJ can do something about putting the train back on the tracks. We must address the list in the coming draft and clear out the rubbish that infects this club.

I think today will kill off the "Melbourne Matters" push.

The only way this club will survive past the present braodcast deal is to have the complete 100% backing of the AFL in all areas.

We are now on full life support.

The players don't care.

Lucky we have PJ, where would we be without him?, been a godsend.

Rational reasoning? I've been rationalising this club's performances for years. The sky isn't falling, but the reality is grim. This is a club in its knees being ritualistically beaten about the head.

PJ has a massive, MASSIVE task on his hands, as does the poor bastard who puts his hand up to coach this mob of "professionals".

I know my club is in a ridiculous state of decay when the only reason I will sign up next year is because of a first year forward.

Listened to PJ on SEN on crunch time this morning and he talked about the need for player development on and off the field. Sounded good but then he talked of the need to get the likes of D Brereton down to the club on a part time basis to mentor young Hogan and generally that we haven't been developing the kids. What are the current full time assistants doing then? Leigh Brown, Jade Rawlings? Part time greats to provide guidance might be nice but surely that is not going to turn some of our boys around. I really struggle with this development issue; what more can we do for these kids, full time training regimes, fitness gurus, elite facilities, specialist coaches? What does proper development look like?

I am looking for hope, for some realistic answers but I am not hearing them yet. We are putting a lot on a change of coach, I hope that is the answer. But I am really despairing of this playing list, poor skills, no grunt, no passion.

The playing list needs a good kick up the ar5e, they are playing for the oldest club in the comp, have some pride in your performances, remember it's an honor not a right.

If it were an animal, you'd give it to a capable owner who actually knows how to take care of it. That may or may not be happening right now, but who honestly knows anymore?

The good news is we have not lost to the worst team in the AFL.

Umm, we cannot play against ourselves, can we? Or do we every week, lol.

We are the worst side in the competition this year.

I have faith in Peter Jackson. To date I have been very impressed with the passion shown to get this club back to greatness.

I, personally believe that at years end we make some radical list changes. Concider the following:

Keep:

Jones

Dawes

Viney

Frawley

Clark

Sylvia

Blease

Garland

McDonald

Grimes

Gawn

Howe

M.Jones

Fitzpatrick

Trade:

Watts - Attract a 2nd round pick

Toumpas - Attract a 2nd round pick

Trengove - Attract a 2nd round pick

McKenzie - Attract a 4th round pick

Dunn - Attract a 4th round pick

Tapscott - Attract a 3th round pick

Jetta - Attract a 4th round pick

Jamar - Attract a 4th round pick

Or bundle, buy in bulk we might get a better pick.

The rest: Well they are not worth anything. Pick 50% that you keep on the list, delist the other 50%

This list is not AFL standard and unless ruthless calculated ricks are taken to solve our list, the club will continue to fail. I doubt we would be compeditive against half the VFL. When is the last time you saw a team going through this many years of losses (both on and off field)? Lets start from scratch; new coach & line coaches, new recruitment officer, new CEO, board, president. Start from scratch and implement changes to ensure the MFC will experience some sucsess. Lets face it, this team we currently have wont take us far even with a proven coach. Chris Scott, David Shwartz and other media personalities (Gerard Weightley) all believe the MFC will not be sucsessful or consistant for 10 years. If we think we can make history with this current team then I just dont see it. In 10 years this list will have turned over. Frawley, Garland, Grimes, Jones all entering their final years if not retired. While I dont suggest trading thoes four players, we have been shown that great teams recruit young players around born leaders with AFL experience.

Just trade the dead wood. It's just rotting waste!

yes its far beyond ONE person to fix. But one person can start a chain reaction that has knock on effects..

This is I hope what PJ will cause, that ripple that turnsw into a swell then into a wave . ( Tsunamis might be reaching a bit currently lol )

One man ...nupp...a team ..yes.

Bumped into PJ and Mahoney before the game. I asked them if we're a chance today and PJ responded with an animated shrug of the shoulders and said "DUNNO!"

This bloke is clearly frustrated and means business.

I am glad you are not my stockbroker. Trading early first rounders or late second rounders e.g. Toumpas, Watts is not a great way to get ahead. But I agree this playing list sh&ts me big time! Over paid pampered so and so's who will keep burning coaches until something or someone transforms the whole place.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
