Awesome, he can do his apprenticeship under Malthouse and come home in a couple of years as an assistant coach with some good experience

Posted

Perhaps he can teach the players how to lead by example when their team is getting belted by 30 goals...

MM would have chosen Green after much thought. His selection is a well deserved compliment. Good Luck Brad, except when playing Dees.

Oh, by the way...can you settle a score with that Brock fellow re his performance on OTC & his insutling 'bruise free' comments... teach him some manners...poor form for current players to trash other teams/players.

I'm happy for Greeny, really good for him to continue to be involved in footy at the highest level

Surely this must be a joke? From the reaction of many on here over the past few months, surely BG has signed for the next 2 years as a player. Don't tell me he has actually retired from playing?

Brad Green - "forced" to retire, now an assistant coach.

Cameron Bruce - offered a 1 year contract, wanted two, we weren't willing, left and played 1 season at Hawthorn and half a dodgy one before retiring mid year.

James McDonald - "forced" to retire, made a comeback season that was very unflattering.

Yet some people still question our list management methods.

BTW - well done Greeny.

Haven't you heard m8, supposable we have been tanking for that past 5 years by forcing all our 30 year old players to retire befor there time and playing younger fitter players a head on them.

The way it sounds where the first club to ever do anything like this.

From memory Carlton was one of those teams Brad used to play particularly well against - people don't forget.

Good luck Greeny!

Good luck Brad! You're a Melbourne champ, and I hope to see you back at the club coaching in the future.

Another of our unwanted so called leaders of poor culture and mediocrity snapped up as development coaches by acknowledged masters of the game past and present. Good luck.

Lots of bitter comments on here disguised as congratulations. I don't really think this is the place.

Well done on a good start to your coaching career Brad, and I hope you push on to win the flag you deserved as a player. Hopefully with us in a few years time.

Good to see him remain in footy and develop under the best coach for the last 25 years. Always liked the guy as a Dee and a person. Hope it all works out well for him and will always be welcome back at the club.

Personally whilst it would have been great to see him always remain with the club experiencing different surroundings will only benefit him in the long term.

Best of luck Greeny

How random, I thought he would be suited to a forward line coach.

???

I heard he was joining the A-league.

Good luck Brad.

You proved to be a real champ and a genuine person to boot.

Now you have a great opportunity to learn from a master.

Let's hope, one day things fall into place so you can bring what you have learnt, back to the Dees.

Saw both Brad and Mick in Broadbeach (not together) fortnight ago - wonder whether they caught up whilst Mick & Christie were doing the publicity rounds for the new book.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
