RIP Jimmy.

A true angel, whose main purpose in life was helping others. A genuine man with a genuine heart and it is so painful that you have left us this early. I am heartbroken :(

Please all Demon followers that have not signed up do it now and repay the faith Jimmy had in us.

My thoughts go out to the Stynes family on this tragically sad day.

I love you Jim. Thank you for saving my club xox

If we can flood the media with e-mails and calls about our love for Jimmy we can get his club membership to where he wanted for us.

Just send an e-mail so we can get the word out.

What a great man.

There is so much that can be said and will be said about the great man. I can still recall the year he was shunted off to Prahan. I thought at that time, what are they doing,he hasnt had a chance to prove himself. Then later i read he was told to learn his footy, that was the reason.

Little did I know, or anyone else for that matter, what a determined, young Irishman we had on our hands.

In the 45 years he was on this earth,he has done more than any of us could only dream of doing in 3 lifetimes.

RIP Jim

Condolences to Sam. all his family and close friends.he is truly going to be greatly missed in all walks of life.

Very sad. My sincerest condolences to his family. How can the football world bestow an appropriate honour for such a great person? Rename the Northern Stand at the MCG in his memory. Is that OK Vlad and MCC?

Well said.

RIP Jimmy. Thank you for everything big fella.

I hope that everyone is able to take part in celebrating Jim's life and achievements. I think the MCC would be an appropriate place. Hopefully something could be arranged because St. Pat's is not going to cope with the outpouring of grief.

The emotion displayed on this thread is only one small sign of the impact Jim Stynes has had on the MFC, the AFL & Australian life in general. Jim saved this football club. Jim saved so many young lives through the Reach Foundation. Three times Victorian of the Year! Tears streamed from my eyes when I read Robbie57's post with the words of "Danny boy". I offer my sincere condolences to the Stynes family.

We will properly spend many days in mourning. But Jim would want us to move on. And move on we will. As the united cohesive financially-sound and professional football club that Jim has made us. And there is only one goal "whatever it takes": that elusive premiership that will be Jim's premiership. It's going to take a few years. But, through my tears, I have a vision of the Stynes family presenting the premiership medals to the victorious Melbourne team; and of Jack Trengove, Jack Grimes & Mark Neeld on the dais holding the Cup aloft. We all know that Jim will be there too. Let's make sure it happens!

In closing, I would just suggest an amendment to the OP. Jim Stynes was not "a great Melbourne man"; Jim Stynes has been the greatest Melbourne man.

RIP

The world has lost a great man.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
