Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I couldnt go unfortunately. Wish i could. I so much prefer watching footy live. I sit at the top od the ponsford where i would have seen what simpson had ahead of him if he won that ball.

The tv angle shits me. Just a tight focus, including the replays. Why not at least on the replay show the down the down the ground shot.

Ivw heard 3 diff versions of what was ahead of simpson from the media. Can someone who was tell me for certain please?

I used to work on the footy doing replays/highlights, channel Seven tend to focus on tight shots and celebrations I suppose going more with the emotion of the game. Whereas Fox Footy go for more of the wider shots to give you idea of tactics. But remember Fox don't show ads, Seven does so they have less time to cram stuff in.

It also might be as simple as they didn't have the shot (Nev & co would've been ants compared to the rest of the field). It's easy to think there's bias etc but 9 times out of 10 it's simply how someone thinks the game should be covered and what the story is.

The Jetta contact with Thomas was a legitimate attempt to go for the ball. Besides Thomas won the ball and handballed it to Simpson. Simpson initiated contact with Jetta. Nothing to complain about there.

Yep, though this fella in one of those guys who seems to feel the free kick count should be 30-0 his sides way each week, so I lost interest arguing the point.

Anyways...  how about little Nev!  Legend!

What was with that giant oaf from the Gold Coast giving him a clip around the ear and then yelling in his face?  Jetta is probably the least deserving player of that kind of treatment in our whole team.  It's almost like he wanted the MFC faithful to boo him.

That contest summed both players up - Jetta is as tough as they come, while Dixon would struggle to knock the fluff off a cappuccino.

My guess is that the big Neanderthal thought Jetta had done his best Joel Selwood impersonation. But who cares. Jetta is the 180cm version of Rance with about 1/10th of the hype.

Get on the bandwagon. I propose it should be placed 30 m from goal on bothe ends of the ground just to remind us of all his second efforts he has made on behalf of the team.

I love that Gray and Wingard got moved up the field just to get the [censored] away from Nev. Unfortunately Gray helped get them moving but we don't have a Nev in the guts.

Hows charlie dixons form tackling jetta high and then giving it to him while he was on the ground?

What a [censored]

Jetta is a legend

Good old Charlie drops a lot of marks he gets his hands to, he likes it on the lead not the contest.

If you watch him, he regularly takes his eyes off the ball. For such a big man he really doesn't like to mix it up in the air  when he doesn't know what's around him.

I'm surprised our so called media experts, particularly some of the Port big mouths, not mentioning you Cornes or Tredrae, haven't called him on it.

He appeared to think Jetta fell at the knees and ducked. Watching the replay though and it's clear Jetta is going full on at the contest with the ball and Dixon being the typical lazy player he is clipped him high. Embarrassing for Dixon.

He is the best reclamation project in MFC history. To think he couldn't get a game and was delisted during our darkest years gives me shivers down my spine. In 2017 he is a top 5 player in a top 5 side.

Makes you wonder if we had the likes of Rossy, and now Goody and others at the club back in those dark days when all we had was people who didn't have a clue how to develop and our boys.

Jetta has been amazing this year and is becoming one of the all times greats at the club.

I wonder if Morton/Cook/Toumpas could have actually developed as really good players under the current structure? Macca has been huge for our kids.

Jetta is proof that good players can thrive in the right environment.

Apparently Matt Lloyd does a rolling All Australian team on the Sunday Footy Show each week.  Not sure if he has Hibberd and Jetta in there yet, but they had better be in it today.

I remember watching Jetta at a Luna Park family day a few years back.  He was there with his partner & young child/children.  No fans around him & quite inconspicuous.  Don't imagine it will be this way at the next family day.....

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
