+93 disposals. +22 CPs. +20 clearances. +24 inside 50s. +1 extra day break on our opponent, who was coming off back-to-back six day breaks. That should be a 5-goal win, not a loss.21 points

Can't we just give the Weid a week off from smacking him on the internet given he's not even playing? Gets a bit tired.14 points

Don't blame the umpires. We didn't take our chances and they did and we were outplayed. Losing to this mob is always the bitterest pill to swallow. Goodnight all.13 points

Furious, absolutely furious with that loss. We have too much class to be kicking and handballing like that. Atrocious games from Kozzie, ANB, Spargo, Hibberd, and Jackson. Kozzie in particular fumbled, ran over the ball, flew when he should have stayed down and played an all round shocker. The old Dees habit of handballing under pressure to a team mate who is under more pressure. That one from Hibberd to Viney in the Pies forward line - unforgiveable. It happened all night. We canNOT keep kicking our forward 50 entries into the pocket. EVERY time, even when we have short options. My rage hasn't settled yet. Really grumpy right now.12 points

Collingwood are obviously very well coached. 11 on the trot now. Simply outplayed us. They were very efficient at goal. Credit to them.12 points

As has been discussed, the pies go fast and push up hard. They will find that method harder to implement againat us than almost any other team, particularly their and aggressive fast ball movement because we are so good at forcing and punishing turnovers. But if they do get forward, we are also better placed than any other team to get over or through their high press and scoring on transition from our defence. Think of our very first goal last week. The ball was trapped almost on freo's goal line and their half forwards and mids were pressed up high, the way the pies like to do. Once we won the ball we were able to get through ther press and out into space. Handball from trac to viney, back to tracc and a 60 metre kick to kozzie running back towards goal, having started up around the half back flank. His opponent couldn't go with kozzie. Tracc could have chosen other options as all our forwards had pushed up and were streaming forward. Took all of 30 seconds, and only for possessions to go from one end of the ground to the other. Bang, bang, bang.12 points

Really? I am having a dig at mental health, because I think it's ludicrous for every second player to come out and hide behind mental health every time they have to deal with a negative narrative? That is the epitome of minimising mental health, and it actually takes away from those who truly are battling mental health issues. He was fair game getting stuck into Gawn, but he can't cop it the other way? Give me a break. A kid who really is suffering from mental health issues, is not putting himself out there like he has. He was happy to cop the praise, so he needs to be happy to cop the negativity coming his way. As for violence, I said I hope he gets tackled high for no frees. I did not say I hope we injure him. Get off your weird high horse.11 points

Kick straight and we win comfortably by 5 or so goals. We always threatened to lose games last year with poor goalkicking. That was my one concern heading into last year's finals series. The Bulldogs round 20 game in particular, but you could argue this year poor goalkicking has cost us against Sydney, Bulldogs and now Collingwood. The most glaringly obvious was tonight's game though. Collingwood played out of their skins. Their pressure was elite and we let them transition too easily at times. But we shouldn't be losing that game. It's fixable if it doesn't become mental. Really poor result though obviously and now we could well miss the top 4.10 points

Just watched the last quarter of the 2017 QB game on Kayo, where Jack Watts kicked the sealer. The ball was parked in our forward 50 for most of that quarter and our pressure was fantastic. Another game like that tonight (with a bigger margin) would be brilliant. And I'll never forget the roar from behind us at that Punt Rd end when Jack kicked that goal. Goosebumps.10 points

Wow, I really struggle to understand why people want us to be boring and generic. Let's just roll out another vanilla cliche about taking one game at a time. Langdon did nothing more than put a little bit of chilli sauce on an otherwise pretty much generic interview out of the MelbournFC marketing handbook. Personally, I loved it. Let's put a bit more personality in this playing group's public persona. We don't need to try and hide in plain sight anymore, we are the reigning premiers. We are allowed to have a few opinions and yes, we need to back them up with actions. Let's just go ahead and do that! If Collingwood getting a bit agro intimidates us we are hardly going to be flag contenders. We are ready for finals football and all that means, bring the heat, we welcome it! Do we really want to try and fly under the radar for fear that we might rile up our opponent? And just to be clear, there was nothing arrogant or offensive in what Langers said, there was plenty of respect for what they can do, just a recognition that they have limits and we are ready to exploit them.10 points

Max missed two sodas, Salems gift after the siren should've been routine, Melksham decides to snap on his left from 35m out in a 45 degree angle instead of earning his goddamn coin and slotting what was a routine drop punt goal. Keep teams in it and get overrun when you can't stop their momentum. Pretty consistent pattern this season. We are crying out for another competitive talk forward. Or game plan doesn't work when we are continually beaten in the air up forward.9 points

Hi Dazz. Our mail is that the Lions have offered 1 year at $750 and there is no certainty that even if the Swans match it now, he’d stay. The other big news we’re hearing is that the Swans have told Josh Kennedy that they can’t guarantee him a game next year and surprisingly, rather than retire, he’s looking at 1 year offers from both the Kangas & GWS. It appears the Swans are looking to move on from these two great Champions. Also hearing that Geelong has made enquiries about Grundy.8 points

Pies are a good team. Fit, good system 22 contributors. But we should have been six goals up at half time when we had the opportunities. We hardly fired a shot after half time but a decent buffer could have been insurmountable. First halves of Langdon, Brayshaw, Salem were great but we need more. Eight goals from Johnson and Elliot really hurt.7 points

That one stung. Pies made the most of their chances. Felt like a final and we came up short. Few players looking tired and sore. We don't quite have the spark we had last year but we'll be around the mark. All of the part time supporters throwing the toys out of the cot and saying they're over the team can gtfo. Buckle up. Get behind the boys.7 points

It's a cliche but this is another huge game that we simply must win. By whacking the filth pretenders tonight we will tie up a top two finish and keep our flag defence at the G. I'll be driving The Manor's dog ute in tonight and meeting some Demonlanders for an early start on the booze. This will likely mean I'll need post match accommodation. ( Demonland sheilas feel free to offer) I reckon we'll win - let's get that straight, but expect the filth to come at us hard. Our defence will be key but expect super games from Clarrie and Max. I don't mind what Ed said about this game, just because i think it could get into the Pies heads a little bit. reality is they may have won a string of games, but they're 3rd with a percentage of 106% which suggests to me they're not winning convincingly, they're winning close games. hopefully we give them a really blunt reality check tonight and send another warning shot to the competition. I reckon the Cats form is just starting to drop slightly as well so can't help but feel we're building at just the right time again to give another flag a very serious shake.6 points

We are a well structured and disciplined side. We are playing a rather arrogant, high risk to reward team. If a few words can get them to try a different approach, then they will be playing into our hands. We will build our wall and have a strategy to blunt their corridor runs. I can't see them going with another strategy other then fast footy and pressure. We will outlast them. They could drain themselves early with having to chase us, and to get the ball in front of us, then all the better. I reckon, it will be the 3rd quarter that decides this game. Don't let them get momentum and we have this. Salem to hit his straps. Petracca to kick straight. Kossie and Sparg's to light it up. Gawn, to feed Oliver with a duck entree, a Mag pie, and the sherrin on a platter. Be ruthless. Go Dees6 points

Last time we played them we were in a "form" slump. No May, Lever hobbling and Petty off the ground when they got a run-on. Business end of the season, those three playing and we are turning the corner. Collingwood supporters are up and about however they have had an easy run home and only just beaten sides on the bottom. Port by 6pts at home Ess by 4 Crows by 5 North by 7 Suns by 5 Giants at home by 11 That tells me they are super overrated and hanging by a thread. Dees win.6 points

I'm a proud twit, but all duck and no dinner is an old school saying. My grandpa used to say it. Back then duck was an exotic meal and saved for the rich folk (save the hunters of course) and probably for special occasions too. And duck doesn’t have a huge amount of meat on it He used to say it when talking about someone he thought lacked substance. All show, no real depth. But I think it means more something like the duck is all well and good, looks great and is tasty. But won't sustain you - not like a proper dinner. In the context langers used it, he is is suggesting their run and and gun style looks great. And works when it works. But by itself it is not enough. He talked about our defensive strength, and from that I take he is implying our game is more dinner than duck. Defence first football us sustainable. I love it, as much as anything that langers chose to use the expression. Less enamoured by the one trick pony jibe, which is closer to a direct criticism, and I'm not a fan of bagging opponents. But either way, his comments won't have any bearing on the result. So, all good theatre.6 points

Don’t judge me, but I follow the /AFL sub on Reddit pretty regularly. I’ve found it’s a great way to gauge the general mood of other clubs, and it seems to be a lot less Boofhead-oriented than Big Footy and the like. Ed’s story is blowing up right now over there, and it’s interesting to note that a lot of people - including many Collingwood supporters - are saying how much they love the banter.6 points
