  3. When a few of us raised concerns after the WC and North game we were immediately shut down on here. There are few too many delusional supporters on here who could not see this coming. We don't play or look like a top 6 side as it stands.

  4. Everything about that game was predictable. Only this time we gave up a 20 point lead instead of the standard 25-30 point lead. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. This has been coming ever since we struggled in large parts against North and West Coast. We don’t apply pressure and we can’t/don’t want to tackle anymore.

  5. Credit to Michael Hibberd on his return to the team. Was written off by many but I feel as though he still has something to offer, even if his man in Elliott got off the chain late in the game.

  6. I'm really feeling it currently but I have to say well done Angus Brayshaw!! He absorbed so much pressure in the third, stoop up in a big way when others didnt. One of a few that can hold his head high today, as was the case with Maxy's effort last week though, you can't leave it to one man or a small group of players to win it for you, it has to come from everyone. Collingwood's bottom 6 absolutely dominated our bottom 6 today. But superb effort Gus, you played a ripper!

  7. I don’t really understand why people come to this site and try and pick imaginary fights with other imaginary supporters, saying things like ‘anyone who thinks…’, or ‘I called this and was shouted down….’. If it makes you feel better knock yourself out, but it’s weird. I’m disappointed, but this team is owed some support by us. You can’t go taking pot shots at the players for not being hard enough if you’re going to fall apart as a supporter when the going gets tough. Show up after the bye, show the team you care. Stick with them. They’ve earned that.

  11. I really thought he was good today. Battled it out when was clearly buggered. Played against a really big opponent and kicked a ripping goal in the last to bring us back into the game. He is 19 ffs!

  14. Interesting that our current slump has bought some of the lurkers out. Quite a few low-post-number members have engaged after todays game. Nice to see them post an opinion. Sometimes adversity brings out a persons best. Lets see what happens after the bye and a mental reset. A few sore players might well appreciate the extra week off. Im banking on the Demons of 2021 to appear after the break.

  15. Let the nervus Nellie's and doomsayers come at us. Let the odds drift a bit more from 3.50 you can now get. And load up on us to win the flag.

  17. I was on the flip side ie being asked for money. In March I was in the city and instead of giving money I suggested I buy the person the food they wanted - we were outside the Macro store in Flinders St. She took up the offer buying biscuits, drinks and lollies. My good Samaritan deed was rewarded the next day when I saw Gus and his partner Danielle having coffee in Desgrave St. I broke all my rules about not approaching well known people but couldn't resist congratulating Gus for the team's great win the previous night; the night we unfurled our flag. Then last Sunday, walking into the Hampton St supermarket a girl asked me for $5 to buy food. Again I invited her into the store to choose what she wanted and I would pay for it. She exceeded the $5 by a fair margin but I let it go. Of course I expect nothing in return but it would be nice if the karma fairy brought us a demon win today.

  20. Goodwin confirmed on AFL 360 that he carried a back injury into the game, which was worsened early in the game when Cox jumped into him and the also rolled an ankle. Goodwin confirmed he would've been subbed out but as he left the field Turner was concussed and Petty got hurt so Max got to complete his duties. Gutsy effort by the legend.

  22. EARLY FREEZE by KC from Casey If the publicity ahead of Queens Birthday Monday was all about the Big Freeze and the game to follow the pre-game entertainment then the hardy group that braved the country’s cold snap to travel out to the windy plains beyond Cranbourne were given an early taste of what was to come in the Casey's big 52-point win over Collingwood VFL. The day started well with the Demons comprehensively beating the VFLW Magpies in the curtain-raiser elimination final and then their male counterparts donned the traditional Springvale heritage kit to dominate their rivals in the VFL match. With Melbourne holding back three players for emergency duties (Baker, Chandler and Tomlinson), Casey was left with 11 AFL-listed players but the VFL boys blended perfectly with them in what was a dominant display in the wild, woolly and freezing conditions. They were out of the blocks quickly in a 6 goal to nil opening term with the young and the old of Casey featuring. Youngster Roan Steele from Frankston YCW started things off with a left foot snap followed by Jimmy Munro’s long 50 metre goal. A couple of Casey talls in Jack Bell and Josh Smith chipped in among a great soccer goal from dangerous young Demon Jacob Van Rooyen and nippy forward Andy Moniz-Wakefield. A feature of the first quarter was Casey's deadly accuracy in front of goals. When the teams changed ends, Collingwood rallied briefly with the wind and were competitive for a while but the avalanche continued with more individual goals from Taj Woewodin, late inclusion Riley Baldi who was having a break out game, Luke Dunstan who was having a blinder and Sam Weideman who had played strongly for limited results on the scoreboard. By half time, when the rain had well and truly arrived to douse out any chance of a Magpie revival, the game was all but over. Coach Mark Corrigan would have been pleased with the fact that only one of his team’s 11 goals had come from a multiple goalkicker - Van Rooyen. The rest of the game turned into a dreary slog in the wet and when conditions moderated there was no pot of gold under the Casey rainbow for the visitors. The second half was an even arm wrestle but the Demons could be well satisfied going into the bye round undefeated and well on top. Dunstan rounded off a four quarter performance with 38 possessions, seven clearances, six tackles with solid contributions from Trent Rivers, Bailey Laurie, Taj Woewodin and Andy Moniz-Wakefield and Jayden Hunt. Toby Bedford also impressed with his strong tackling. Van Rooyen showed his versatility after kicking his two first half goals by backing up in the ruck when Josh Smith injured his meniscus. Casey’s skipper Mitch White added two goals in the gloom of the third quarter while Jimmy Munro was the perfect foil for Dunstan with 28 disposals. Jack Bell had a huge game in the ruck with 29 hit outs and 14 possessions and, as mentioned earlier Baldi produced an excellent all round game, the best of his brief VFL career. Another excellent performance came from Corey Ellison who held sway in the key defensive position in the absence of Tomlinson and Daniel Turner. In the end, it was another big, albeit early freeze for a visiting team at Casey Fields. 23. I have to agree. On a like for like basis, Bedford is a better small forward than 200cm Coleman medal winning Ben Brown.

  26. JJ was good. Worked so hard and was composed with the footy. Hibbo also blanketed Elliot well. Props to our magnificent captain who couldn’t walk and was still out there fighting. He is a rare gem. We don’t deserve him.

  28. Why oh why do we insist on not having a tall as the sub. FFS Tomlinson can play forward at a pinch, he can play wing. He can defend. Three weeks in a row we have defenders go down and the sub is a small forward. Also why didn’t we put Ben Brown in the ruck to help poor Gawn? This man is going to die on the field for this team. We don’t deserve him!

  29. JFC there is some massive overreactions on here. We will reset over the bye and be fine. Pies run in the third started with a horrendous umpiring decision. That isn't paid and it probably ends up completely different.

  33. I know there is another Segment on Clayton Oliver, But I must say that the Collingwood ferals ARE A DISGRACE!! Every last one of them that Booed a very worthy winner of the Queens Birthday medal, has brought shame and humiliation on their club. That they have tarnished a very good win by their team is an indictment on the supporter base that is universally hated for the feeble minded and intellectually Bereft of some supporters. I am Appalled!!

  34. His brilliance and determination have masked how poor our midfield is performing this year. It feels like an eternity since we won the clearances and could stop opposition midfields charging through the corridor. Would be in a world of pain without Clarry doing his bit.

  38. It is 100% his back. He was holding it constantly. Channel 7 commentary is trash. We don’t deserve him. He is a warrior and I’m fuming that Cox, genuinely one of the worst footballers going around, gets to look like some sort of hero today playing on nobody after injuring Gawn. I hope he drops those stupid sunglasses in the toilet! We are in genuine trouble if Gawn is going to be out for a while or down on form due to the injury.

  39. The truth that dare not be spoken by the club, and unjustifiably so in my opinion, but for which this game (on top of the last two) is further evidence (and I’m not saying we know for sure, before my head gets ripped off!) is that we are loading heavily. Ask yourself what’s unique about these last 3 games. Answer = last half capitulations, particularly last quarter. Remember we’ve been leading at halftime in all. Then ask what would be the MOST OBVIOUS reason. Answer = we are tiring early in games, and a lot it seems. Really a lot! Then ask why they might be so fatigued, when at our best, we did the opposite. Then ask who our fitness coach is, and who he learnt from? See any patterns?
