With all the depth on our coaching panel, it's going to be hard for Goodwin to break back in to the senior post. It's exactly like Hunt/Bowey late last year.27 points

Send Goody to coach the Casey Demons for a couple of weeks until he regains form.16 points

Wouldn't it be better for MFC that Yze stays within the organisation and becomes Goodwin's replacement in 4/5 years?13 points

Forced changes: Viney in for Sparrow. Tmac in for Jackson. Bedford in for Pickett. Unforced change: Lever in for Smith.11 points

Should we call Zaharakis and ask him to start stretching just in case?10 points

I'm going to avoid that like the plague.9 points

Have found the changes in the com box super refreshing. Buckley and Chunk in particular provide great insight without arrogance9 points

Is Yze the right man though ... when does someone start that thread?9 points

I notice the Anzac Day jumpers are up for auction . There will be three I wont be bidding for :)8 points

Not sure how bad the covid cases are but MFCSS has sure claimed a few.8 points

Went to the game on Sunday night, I was invited in to a club function and got a dose of covid there, there were a couple of coaches there and Robbo was the MC (?) so maybe that's where it came from. Watching the game I was seated next to one of the club Directors and he may have inadvertently contributed to the outbreak. I woke up in the middle of the night last night, with the sore throat, headache and runny nose, no big deal if that's all it is. I had a "close talker" having a chat to me and wouldn't be surprised if he spread it to a few there. As a matter of interest Lyndon Dunne was sitting in front of me and he was stirring the pot when a few Tigers fans were leaving, giving them the wave goodbye, they bit and were having a go back but Dunney just kept right on waving. There's no doubt where his allegiance lies.8 points

The week off will clearly give him time to read and sign his new contract!!!!8 points

If Goody was to get COVID any week - this is it. Yze knows the Hawks well.8 points

So says the MFC website Well if anyone knows Hawthorn its Yze.....8 points

No Mercy Demons. They deserve DECADES of Pain Foot on the Throat HARD8 points

How Shane Woewodin’s feud with Melbourne was finally healed nearly two decades later Shane Woewodin had a "complete falling out with Melbourne" after being traded while on holidays. It took two decades to repair the rift.7 points

Would be great when Yze walks out on the ground there is a rousing OOOOZE that greets him.7 points

In Victoria 'close contacts' no longer need to isolate so players are safe unless they get it.7 points

i reckon choco or richo will take over boundary line responsibilities. Yze will stay in the box as the tactical master mind. We even have quality depth in the coaching ranks... how good is this.7 points
-
Great opportunity for Yze. I would hate to lose him, but at the same time I would be bloody happy if he was able to snag a senior coaching gig in the next year or two. Bloke deserves it and is one of the best midfield coach and game day tactician going around in the AFL.7 points
-
We're one of the best placed teams to cover this kind of thing IMO. Goody and Yze are very much a team rather than boss and assistant. Also a great run for Yze who I reckon will be coaching either Port or GWS next year.7 points

Classic MFC fan revisionism of BB. He was fantastic at North and has been, and currently is, the best tall forward we have.7 points

I don't think we'll be needing her. Our depth is pretty good.6 points

I'm happy as long as Jake "13 - 0" Bowey is playing.6 points

Shows the importance of banking early wins and nailing close games. Given how we handled the last two years in the hub and 2021 I feel we have been very mature about rolling with the punches and just getting the job done6 points

People still want Smith dropped even when the changing rooms are as ripe as a Wuhan wet market? OUT - Jackson, Sparrow, Kozzi IN - Lever, Viney, Bedford6 points
-
Not sure about Lever but Viney is so tough he is currently running through brick walls and apparently gave Covid-19 a bad case of the Viney-22. Covid is out indefinitely6 points
-
The straight forward way of dealing with what would otherwise have been a problematic situation. In: Jake Lever Tom McDonald Jack Viney Out: Luke Jackson (H & S Protocols) Kysaiah Pickett (H & S Protocols) Tom Sparrow (H & S Protocols) Joel Smith becomes the Medical Sub and Toby Bedford goes into the starting 22 effectively covering Kozzy while Jake Lever effectively replaces Smith. Alternatively, if we get some heavy, wet weather, then possibly go with Jake Melksham rather than Tom McDonald. The result is IMO just as good a line up as the one that beat Richmond last Sunday night.6 points

Assuming Luke Jackson and Toby Bedford could be 2 of them based on Toby's Instagram Story.6 points

I hope the crowd gets massively behind Adem and when he walks out onto the ground there’s a big “oooooooze” from the MCC. Get well soon Goody, hope he can kinda take this as a bit of a break. If anyone deserves it it’s him!6 points

In our truly horrible years I went to a Dees v Hawks game at the G on a Friday night with a couple of colleagues. They were both Hawks supporters and insisted we sit next to the cheer squad. I slammed 6 pots before the game at Y&J as I knew I couldn't watch our team sober in that environment. We got smashed by a huge amount, no surprise What I have not forgotten is how nice the Hawks supporters were towards me. At one point I had my head buried in my hands and a couple came up and patted me on the back and told me things will come good etc. and at the end of the game a few shook my hand for sticking to the bitter end. I bare them no ill will, although I still hope we smash them6 points

Mitch Clark was doing pretty well for us until he was injured. I think May would have to take him. 2022 team would just have Lever picking off any passes anyone tried to send to Watts. At the other end, Frawley would have his hands full with a fit BBB. I'd definitely pick 2022 Tom McDonald in my team, just so that 2012 Tom could be sent to him. I'd back the 2012 version to keep himself quiet. Nathan Jones was at peak power in 2012 but our 2022 midfield would absolutely smash them. And as a desperate tactic if I was Mark Neeld, I'd pick 2012 Max, have him wear a fake beard and try to fool the 2022 team into passing the ball to him. 2022 by 276 points.6 points

I think they will want to replace like for like so in: Viney, Bedford, Lever, McDonald Out: Sparrow, Pickett, Smith and Jackson. McDonald to do Jacksons role.5 points

Joel Smith made one mistake otherwise he played a good game - May made a similar mistake in the last qtr - pretty tough call to drop him over that5 points

At least our next game which is against the Saints is not for another 11 days5 points

But not like the 3 players and Goody5 points

In a way it’s not a bad thing for a few players coach etc to be going down through the season. Worst result would be an outbreak pre or during finals . That being said .. get well soon. Good luck to yze.5 points

Given the health of our list and winning form he’ll be the proverbial cherry ripe come game time. Whatever is needed, he’ll get. Loading on damaged/filled joint surfaces has to be done with progressive care, otherwise the surface starts to degrade irreparably…..Clint Bartram’s early career end being an example.5 points

Update of defensive stats. Definitely seems to be locked in to some averages now with only minor movement each week. Freo are putting up impressive numbers. Carlton were ranked third for i50s before last week (56 per game). Freo restricted them to just 38 i50s which is pretty impressive. If Freo's system stands up against Geelog this week then I'll call a Freo v Melb grand final. Brisbane are dangerous offensively but when finals pressure hits their mids are too loose and slow (bottom 6 at conceding i50s).5 points

I really really despise of the Hawks. During their dynasty, they often gave us a spanking (a lot of teams did - but the Cats and Hawks were without mercy) i want us to register a 10 goal+ win.5 points

Jamar would give Gawn a decent opponent in the ruck. Taps directly to Beamer (every single time). Moloney would burst forward and throw it on the boot which would be easily intercepted by Lever, Petty and May. This is no way a dig at Moloney. He cops a bad wrap on here at times but his throw it on the boot tatic at stoppages would be destroyed by our current team. After it happens three times in a row the vein in Mark Neelds neck explodes from yelling into the phone too loud. Before Mark can make it to the ambulance, Cam Schwab notices that the blood coming out of Neelds vein is the perfect colour he has been looking for the players guernsey. Unfortunately we are still playing in the purple one with the fake collar. The following week Moloney is dropped and replaced by Magner4 points
