He just isn't that sort of player, he's much more like Jake Stringer as i said earlier, he's a hybrid small/tall forward. the style he plays is closer to Bailey Fritsch than it is to Jacob Van Rooyen.

JT has a better record with mids than talls (Petty being the exception), so it'll be interesting to see who we rate in the top 10.

I really hope we don’t take Curtain, as much as I personally think he is a star- he will be back at Freo as soon as he can - unfortunately.

Sorry but this is nonsense. Neither Curtin nor O'Sullivan have any significant exposed form forward of the ball, so your comment is entirely subjective and baseless. 

Caddy certainly plays like a key forward. Whether he can be a good one is of course up for discussion. 

I'm not sold but there are some exciting aspects to him. Would be unnecessary if they believe in Jefferson (I do not).

On balance I think there will be better options for us at 6, but would not be surprised if we pull the trigger on Nate. 

I do doubt we would draft talls with our first pick three years in a row....but stranger things have happened.

Failing to take a genuine midfielder at pick 6 would be the biggest drafting mistake this club has made since the Weideman debacle.

If Caddy has the ability to become a big bodied midfielder in the mould of Patrick Cripps, then I'm definitely interested. Otherwise, no thanks.

What I like about Caddy in his highlights (yeah yeah I know), is how well he seems to read the ball flight and that he marks the ball at his highest point. He times his leap very well (unlike Dogga who started running under the ball a lot).

Would I draft him at 6 if the likes of Sanders, McKercher or Curtin were available………..no. I’d consider him at our next pick if available, but I’m no draft guru like a few on here.

This is not the draft for high end mids. Sanders will be the only option at 6. Mckercher will be gone. What do you want us to do just read out a name that isn’t there? If Jason Taylor rates O Sullivan, Caddy or anyone else higher than Sanders then that’s who we’ll pick.

Stiff Arm you forgot Fullarton who is 200cm tall. Surely he is a chance to add some skill in 2024 both forward of centre and in the ruck.

This isn't true. O'Sullivan played forward for the first few games this year before moving into defence.

This short video sums up Caddy to me.  I see an aggressive competitor, which I like, but a distinct lack of class.  If he's considered a top 10 draft pick it really is a shallow draft.

Similar for me. I like his aggression and he's good in the air as an undersized marking option. Good at reading the flight and clunking, doesn't have a good leap which is limiting when he's already undersized. He said in an interview he'd like to become a big bodied midfielder like Nat Fyfe, but he really struggled when playing midfield. I can't seem him making it as a mid at AFL level due to lack of athleticism and not the quickest decision maker. He projects as an undersized key forward similar to Jack Darling if he makes it IMO. He lacks athleticism, leap, kicking penetration and explosiveness, so will never become a Charlie Curnow type dominant key forward IMO. Very much a mark and set shot type, but barely makes the distance from 50...

I'd steer clear with pick 6 and probably pick 11 too. Would rather O'Sullivan or Murphy if we're going tall. Both are superior athletes and better kicks and could be developed as tall forwards if needed. Similar to both Petty and JVR being drafted mainly as defenders and then developed as forwards.

His disposal was nowhere good enough for a high draft pick.

He appears to have quite long arms which I always like. Makes it hard for defenders to spoil

Beautiful ambiguity. I can't work out whether you're saying that others on here are not draft gurus but think they are or whether you're of the view that you consider others to be draft gurus while admitting that you are not.

I disagree, the biggest mistake would be abandoning best available for an inferior player.

Whilst we do need some young midfielders on the list there’s other options to get them this year and in the next few years. 

When we drafted Oliver we were loaded with mids and taking Clarry pretty much ended Tyson’s career and impacted on Gus and Tracc’s midfield time at various stages, but of course it was worth it.
 

Meanwhile going for need for Weid because he was theoretically a great fit with Hogan ended badly.
