I'm going to have to cut the questions off here. Putting all the notes together and I can tell it's going to be another long one.

One day you'll need a 12 hour special.. let's hope it's after and before this year's GF 😁.

Sorry boys I know it’s too late but I can’t resist asking if you’re now onboard with my thoughts re pulling trigger late vs Lions and the power of it — do you now see it? Do you now blv? Loved Hoyne (who’s the best in business) also agreeing Lions played some of best footy seen Ala kicking in that Qtr 2-3 being supported statistically & we just had to ride through it.

Proud of our coaching group, let’s hope it’s wasn’t pulled too early, the Petty move is one I’ve always been HUGE on & couldn’t be happier to see come to fruition, it’s been staring us in face since Lions game last year, and it’s been clear as day it’s what we needed with HP hands & movement, it not only makes him dangerous but brings our smalls in and most of all his VOICE & Comms is essential and when Fritta comes back boy are we gonna be dangerous. They made the necessary adjustments & Grundy was a HIGE call no matter how you slice it, took BALLS of steel and it’s not necessarily over for him but it is now a 4-1 shot he returns in the scheme of it but things change often & thus it’s not mute by any stretch & I expect him to give Max a rest soon & then maybe be a potential decoy/double bluff option come finals where big bodies with skill MATTER & as a resting big Taking 4th defender for 2-3m a qtr, my WORD he could be handy & that’s how it was meant to work Ala preseason,  it personnel changed & meant resting ruck was taking 2nd/3rd best defender instead, entirely diff proposition.  Final thought on that — Grundy coming back when Fritta does so he’s resting as 4th tall is now 💯 on, even if 4-1 it’s 4-1 each week for 8wks meaning it’s likely at some stage remember that!!! But the real masterstroke is having a FRESH Max thanks to Brodie being there (never forget that should he not ever play again this year, but he will play next year this is Max’s swan song if he plays solo ruck, he WONT be doing it next year no way in hell) and a fresh CLARRY thanks to circumstance and mgmt! Our balk movement was 💯 put away post r4/5 & was always coming back — strap in fellas it’s gonna be a much tighter ride than 2021 but as a result the potential reward will mean it might feel even better (cus in shootouts, we’re not gonna see blowouts, we’re gonna need to come from behind a lot & have others come to us Ala crows but we might just end up 1-16pts in front & that’s the key. Suddenly ppl outside of Demonland realise Max is so far the best player and immovable object in comp it’s not even close let alone best Ruck, but they have forgotten that a fit Clarry might just be his equal!

CANNOT wait — love your work this podcast is building and mainstream media muppets are just starting to cotton on despite what we have to still come back, so pumped!

️ as usual guys.  Thank you!

Great show this week guys. The two and half hours flew by on my commute from London to Frankfurt and back for work.

A big thank you on behalf of those half a world away with no other source of Demon-centric analysis.

Love the new logo too.

If you ever want a way to listen to the pod in one sitting, decide one night to drive home through Swan St past AAMI Park and Rod Laver. I reckon I was in that precinct alone for 45 mins bumper to bumper.

That will still take you 3 days of that. 🤣

Took a nice chunk out of it though! The whole trip took nearly an hour and a half and finished it up at home making dinner. Usually I end up with an hour of rope left and roll over to the next day!

So @binmandoes have a beard? I thought it was just a random profile pic.

Fine pod again, boys. Excuse me if I missed something, but are the three (obviously handsome) caricatures on the web page header ‘actual’ representations of you three?

George and I are representations of us. Although my wife says I look better as a caricature. Binman might be mistaken for his Demonland avatar.

I’ll just take it Andy that you do resemble a youthful reverse-eyebrowed Mr. Spock, and George a wiser version of Harry Beitzel? Presuming also that binman’s Garry Baker-alike, all shimmering hair and beard, is just wishful thinking?

Caricatures do take 10 years off so I'll take that. I also submitted a photo from 2021 when I was quite a few KGs lighter so I actually fit into that guernsey I'm wearing.

But i am not Garry Baker.

I see. Those horns must be awkward then. Not to mention the hooves.

Another outstanding podcast from the Demonland Podcast crew. Thank you.

It is very evident that a lot of time and hard work goes in to the preparation of the show each week and I just want you to know that all that effort is greatly appreciated by this Dees fan.

I have left a 5 Star Review for you boys on APPLE. It's the least I can do for a podcast that is now a staple of my footy week. Go Demons.

Great show. One knock on effect of Goodies innovation and squad mentality this year (plus the inclusion of listener questions) is that there’s more to discuss and thus the podcast is now regularly 2+ hours - I’m happy with that, keeping me distracted for either two workouts or three dish washing assignments. Thanks for all your efforts and insights 👍

Kudos to Andy, George and Binman. Another thoroughly enjoyable podcast off the back of another great win. May it continue well into October.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?

After kicking the first goal of the match the Demons were always playing catch up against the Saints in Alice Spring and could never make the most of their inside 50 entries to wrestle back the lead.
