Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Well, at least Tracc can get all the votes to himself now, might sneak a Brownlow! Seriously though, it’s a good sign that he is in rehab already. Don’t forget this is the same bloke who played with a broken hand last year. I think he will be back sooner than what the doom and gloom media are suggesting

Just get him and Petty cherry ripe for Geelong, we’ll come home with a wet sail

Watch Petracca closely this Saturday and tell me he’s banged up. He’ll be the guy in the 5 guernsey ripping Freo a new one.

He'll have Serong and Brayshaw hanging off each leg and still fire off a handball to a free player

I was thinking the same thing. Has he got it off a mate or from Dr Google. Very strange for a guy off the street to make such a medical diagnosis. Maybe he has personal experience in this type of injury.

My experience is that I have recovered from a tendon strain and am familiar with the rehab protocol. What made me think tendon is that Clarry is already doing some running less than 48 hours after the injury and if a muscle tear I would have thought they'd have him off legs to let the muscle heal. Rehabbing a tendon involves loading it up to what you can tolerate and building on this.  This said I'm not a sports physio and have no idea how the AFL medico's grade and rehab different hamstring injuries.

Not underrating Clarry's awesomeness for an instant, but I'm wounding if this provides an oppertunity for us to function slightly differently in the midfield in a way that's less predictable for the opposition and breaks open our season again?

Certainly provides an opertuity for a different few faces like Sparrow, Harmes, Kossie, Riv or Gus to rack up some serious midfield time and show what they can do in there given the opportunity.

Will it be Brayshaw Vs Brayshaw again?

OK all it now appears he is out for a little bit. No issues here. The sky is not falling done upon us Demonlanders. Team is not just Clarry. We have depth to cover and need to play more guys through the midfield than normal. Just might be a good thing and find out what the others can do instead of relying on Clarry, Trac and Viney. Viney had a quiet one last week and to a lesser extent so did Trac so expect them to come out firing on Saturday. Throw in Kozzy, Rivers, Sparrow etc and we will have a different look. S..t I hope so.

From the medical report I got:

As far as Oliver goes- we don’t know

We didn’t stuff up letting him play in because we only found out after the match - dubious

Everyone is progressing well - hmmm

Smoke and Mirrors, yep sounds like an episode of "In Search of" with Leonard Nimoy, we will never know how, what, or why with this  one but clearly someone has STUFFED up Big Time!

Was waiting til the official word from the club @rjay. A ‘strain’ is a tear. Not sure why they insist on using ‘strain’, when they could just use the tear grading (1-3). Nobody’s fooled I suspect. Anyway, all hamstring tears begin at 3 weeks. Straight clinical epidemiology tells us that if you bring even a minor tear (grade 1) back inside 3 weeks, the risk of re-tear is markedly greater. Needless to say, the longer the rehab, the lower the risk. I’ll assume Clarrie’s is grade 1, in which case he ‘should’ miss the next 3 games, to avoid such risk. Desperation does strange things though.

Is there such thing as a 'low grade 1' Webber? I first had this down as hammy tightness because (in my uninformed opinion) if there was even a partial a tear it seems strange to me that he was able to do some running and stretching yesterday. Got no idea now.

@Webber, how about Clarry misses next 3 weeks,, not games

Injury sustained on May 19. 3 weeks takes us to June 9. KB is on June 12.

So if it is a grade 1  surely he only misses 2 games and returns in time for the Pies game ?

Good point.

Depends on their appetite for risk but it is handy that we played the first game of round 10 and the play the last game of round 13.

We shouldn’t write off James Jordon or James Harmes or Dunstan from our midfield mix all bigger harder bodies that can rotate with Tracc, Vines, Sparrow, Rivers, Kozzie and Chandler. That would leave Gus half back where he is needed most I am hoping that the coaches mix it up a bit and put a bit of a fire in their belly over the next four weeks. It’s time that the second echelon showed us what they are capable off and give Clarry the necessary time to get his hammy cherry ripe. Opportunity waits for no man.!!!

I know he’s our best and most important player, but you’d hate to rush him for the KB game, which is a probable loss  anyway, and have him do a serious injury and miss the rest of the season. Seems not worth it!

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
