Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yes but you were saying two key forwards is today not the best way and Bevo has 3 in this week.

You posted   ( the 2 traditional tall setup is not very successful nowadays and I think Goody sees this. )

Except my point was more about the type of player they are, than purely their position, hence the word traditional. I guess we'll let Bevo decide what suits him best and have the results do the talking, JUH flourishes more as a main target it seems. Goody's stubborn and often unpopular selection has proved fruitful more often than not

Agree we need to shut down Bailey Dale. At the peril of my SuperCoach team.  He’s clearly their quarterback.  Sometimes or actually mostly, MFC fails to identify key quarterback types. Mills (Swans) and Crisp (Pies) played this role and in recent losses we failed to shut them down.
Possibly Melksham is identified for this role and knows that Dale often takes the kick in and then runs to create the overlap possession.

Just checked. Bailey Dale is elite for disposals (avg 27 per game) , rebounds from def50 (6.9) and metres gained (592m).  But only average for contested possessions, tackles and spoils. Classic quarterback.  Aside from the Mids (Bont, Libba, Macrae) I’d put lots of work into making Dale accountable and making sure we tightly watch him closely when the Dogs rebound.  Simply can’t play a loose zone on him.

I fully expect us to start hitting our straps and getting back to our best footy starting very soon. We all but have our best 22 on the park now excluding Tmac. Hopefuly it starts on Saturday.

I think its very likely we've gone through some sort of uplift in training loads at some point recently, and it will serve us well this September as it did last year.

Especially with Daniel out we could essentially cut off all means of distribution out of their backline if we do this.

I don't. Except for the odd moment or match, sitings of our premiership form have been few and far between. Too many players down on form/injured/out. If we win more than one match in the finals I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I see Mitch Hannan is listed at HBF on the Bulldogs selection sheet. Does he ever play down back

I think he has been playing the last couple of games down back, ever since his return to the main team. He has been doing alright, as he can take more risks and has a bit more freedom. Has created some good linking plays.

FMD !!!

I'll add to my above comment - for reasons of clarity.

Weid has had his chances but has shown nothing to inspire confidence.

However, having said said that, I hope he plays a blinder !!!!

And .....who knows ...... him being the number one ... the one and only KPF may be just the fillip he needs to get his [censored] into gear!!

BBB pulled out of the training (captains run), very early in the session this morning. Spent most of his time wandering around aimlessly, looked underwhelmed.

If our forwards fire could be the end for him.

Weid and Petracca to destroy the Dogs.

Also Dunstan had a little issue with his left hammy (awareness), required some massage, quickly rejoined the seconds squad though.

That's like saying 'If Dunstan comes in and averages 40 disposals per game, it could be the end for Viney"

For what's its worth, I bumped into a Lever at Southland this afternoon and asked him if he was gonna get up for tomorrow. "Yeah hopefully I should be alright". Wasn't oozing confidence

You’d think if he was out it would have been announced with the BB withdrawal.

Unless of course they’re giving him an extra day to prove his fitness.

Going by the chatter about BBB this week, that he can't fully train and will always have a tender knee. (He isn't a Buddy.)

I think we need a stable forward line, going into the final series. If it functions well without him , I can see us not picking BBB.

Fair enough. I guess I have less faith in Weid firing, than I do in Benny rehabbing from a knee injury.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
