Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Out: Oscar, Lewis (rested), Preuss
In: May,  Hore, Lockhart

Hore in down back, Hunt back forward. If Lever's no good then either Hunt/Brayshaw at half back and bring in Stretch.

FB: Hibberd  May Frost
HB: Hore  Lever  Salem
C: JKH   Oliver  Baker
HF: Dunkley  Melksham Petracca
FF: Hunt  Fritsch  Petty
Foll: Gawn Harmes Viney
Int: Brayshaw, C Wagner, Jones, Lockhart

Go small and quick up forward. Petty can ruck for 5 minutes a quarter against Cox.

Yes, but then again, Petty May Fritta away his opportunities with his lousy kicking for goal!

Didn’t Oscar play his school footy as a forward? Why not throw him down there and May back if he’s back in. May as well coz his confidence is shot as a defender at the moment.

Goody said in his presser that he’s throwing some players around to see what flexibility they may have to offer.

Smart. Bailey didn't say that was what he was doing and was accused of tanking, By stating in advance that you'e doing it to look at flexibility, he's prepared his defence in advance.

I can't see any future with C Wagner so I'd rather play Stretch to see whether he might be worth keeping. May and Hore should both come in, one for Oscar McD and the other for either Lever (if injured) or (gulp!) Brayshaw who looks horribly out of sorts. I don't think Preuss, Baker or Dunkley deserve their places, either, but I'd like to keep giving them game time.

In. May and Hore.          Play OMac at Full Forward and see if he has anything to inspire us. Anything!

Out. Please yourselves.

All our players to go to and shake the 3 field umpires hand and  simply ask them to give us a fair go and  not feel pity for us as  we are going through the motions.

I think the excitement l will enjoy from 2019 season is the Draft picks. My Blockbuster for the year.

Oscar can't currently keep up with the leading forwards, so I'm not sure why we'd play him in the forward line, except to "bring the ball to ground" which isn't working out so well for us.

I'd like to see the club make a statement of one (or more) of the several players that didn't lay a tackle all game. I can't fathom that.

Pruess is a disaster, 1 mark, 6 disposals and 3 of them turnovers. Its not working, out he goes. Put Lever away fro the rest of the Year, what good is it having him play, plus he is so overrated its not funny, sorry i should say that, because he does have elite qualities, he is a great Spolier and his pointing to players in the backline is first class.O-Mac is not good at his job.

Pruess Lever O-Mac - OUT

May Hore Lockhart  - IN

Preuss's major attribute is his tap work. The previous week against St Kilda we played T Smith as the second ruck. My view may differ if I had a look at the replay, but I thought that Smith in the ruck didn't work and we lost that game when Gawn was off the ball and St Kilda took control of the centre. That's why I wanted Preuss to play against Richmond. If there's an alternative to Preuss who can give Gawn decent support, I'm all for playing him. But without T McDonald or Weideman, I think we still need to play Preuss for this reason.

This post seems to have gone under the radar around here.

Apparently he trained well and was border line for the Richmond??

I don't agree with those calling for May going forward, if he's back the more games they get with him and lever add in Frost, hore etc. down back together the better it'll be for next year. Don't mind omac going forward because like petty I think they are additions to the backline not keys.

I'd bring in May and hore and move out Preuss and omac. Put hunt forward again and try going smaller down there

I might be wrong, but I seem to recall Petty taking a handful of ruck contests since playing forward.

Mmmm .. maybe Preuss to follow Cox wherever he goes (assuming he plays - isn't he under some sort of injury cloud?) ..... meaningless game so experiment time.

Too true.  Petty is just starting to show he is learning as a forward: why not leave him there?

If we bring in May and hore and don't loose lever, then I'd love to see Frost go in there. Try some Frost ball from the centre with no expections

I agree that Smith isn't the answer, we just get totally cleaned up when Max goes for a rest and Pruess does his share in this area.

Unfortunately he's lost any confidence with his hands and can't hold a mark.

I like where 'Nev' is heading here, I would give Petty a run.

The kid is a smart footballer and he has just that little bit of mongrel about him.

Would also be pretty useful around the ground with his marking.

Might as well have some options for next year.

Don't mind that to be honest. I can vaguely recall him taking some ruck contests in his early games for the club.

It's a dilemma as Preuss has been an absolute liability since the Bulldogs game (Carlton game he was OK as the sole ruck) but we need someone to compete against Cox as the resting ruck.

Suggested this last week. Take the weight off his shoulders and let him run free for a change, absolutely nothing to lose.

Worth a shot.  Just because he gets left behind by forwards doesn't mean that he can't leave them behind.  Maybe as a back he focusses too much on his oppo rather than where the ball is going and thus gets lost.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
