Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Chris Judd thinks we celebrated too hard.

I knew there was going to be at least one former player to come out and say this. Couldn’t give a rats, Jones in particular has earned this and in a tight difficult game the relief was so strong and they were feeling what the fans were feeling. The end of 12 years in the wilderness.

Unless you’ve experienced it, you can’t know what it feels like.

We can celebrate as hard as we want.  We beat the dog [xxxxx] in WA, his old mob before he took the cash to go to Carlton.

We can also celebrate as hard as Carlton will celebrate getting a priority pick, maybe a bit harder.

This DESERVED celebration.  To not celebrate is unrealistic and not acknowledging the heartache of supporters over many years.  Go Hard, and Juddy - F off.

That was just letting off steam and breaking a chain

The real Celebrations will begin in 6 weeks time.

I can see what Judd is saying, but i don’t think the players celebrated too hard. They were just rapt.

The real work began today.

Don't blame MFC at all.  They were carrying the weight of history; the weight of the veil of negativity; the weight of getting another interstate scalp; the weight of the 24-hour media cycle suggesting that they are 'a default 8 team' who are front-running bullies who play well only against weak opposition.

The lid was off for a minute.  Get over it.  The bulldogs celebrated the prelim final win against the GWS very very very hard.  Seriously.

I listen to triple m footy a bit when I'm stuck working during the games, Juddy is pretty bullish on the Dees and how well they could do in finals, I got the feeling that he doesn't want the Dees to be celebrating so much for just making finals when he thinks we should go further?

I understand what he's getting at, but considering how long it's been for the club, you can understand the players getting pumped up about it. ?

I heard Garden interviewed and asked "how hard will you celebrate?" (Or similar) and (paraphrasing him) he said:

"We haven't had much to celebrate over the years and I used to watch Geelong win and just go through the motions like it didn't mean anything. We're not going to do that,  we'll sing every song like we mean it and keep celebrating every victory, because each time it's hard won"

Or something like that, that's the message i took from it. Judd can stick that up his arse.

A bit of a stupid thing to say (non-human behaviours, wtf Judd). You try not making finals for 12 years and being called mentally weak and playing in front of 55,824 supporters all of whom are booing every time you go near it.

Having said that, if we lose next week and/or we lose the first final, I anticipate there will be certain posters on here (some of whom are conspicuously absent at the moment) who reference our celebrations yesterday as a reason for the loss.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
