$20 says they get least the same, if not more Friday games than us next year.

And lets be clear on this. In the crowd Sunday the slight majority were Melbourne supporters considering it was Carlton's home game. This should not be lost on the AFL dolt's. Melbourne's attendance will only grow as the team continues successfully. Our issue with the home games is the quality of the opposition which will not attract huge crowds. I would prefer to see a fair FIXture which gives us home games (including Friday and Sat arvo games) against the larger teams than yearly handouts from the equalization fund.

Certainly more Dees than Blues at 3/4 time ????

... and judging from how GWS played against Nth, I don't think the players still at the club are showing the strategy to be a good one either. Sure they have injuries, but they still have exceptional talent on their list that has not had good exposure to AFL footy, and I think is hurting their development.

Having too many first round picks on their list has hurt them in the long run, it has not been good for a lot of young men who would have had good careers at other clubs, instead plenty have been left rotting on the vine.

Besides which I have had a few chats to people in the Club and was told what I said, we were looking as a midfielder originally, but with an oversupply, the fwd option was taken, except nobody can remember whose idea it wad

Watched the replay last night.

snorted when Hibbo went to throw  the ball back to the boundary umpire in the third as he was running back to set up and threw it into Lamb’s face (and then the subsequent smirk - gold)

Yep, this is spot on.

In his last year at Essendon he played across half back and we recruited him with this in mind.  It didn't work out and we made the change for the better.

Saty won't admit he's wrong though, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

And the ump was right there who basically condoned it because of the flogger Lamb is. Bet he was thinking fair play, Mr Hibberd..

I'm currently in a remote area of NSW, and 20 kms from the nearest internet coverage. Yesterday I drove the 40 kms (round trip) to enjoy the post-match frenzy on Demonland, only to get caught up in the damn Telstra outages.  Another 40 kms this morning, and I finally get to 'feel' the excitement of fellow Demonlanders.  The iPad is now down from 100% to 15% .......... that's how much I enjoyed it.  Well done guys and gals!  Go Dees!

I hope the Greatest Waste of Space club withers on the vine and dies. It was a terrible idea to start another club de novo  in Sydney where most people are only interested in rugby league, including the mass media. All those early draft picks we could have had... Plus they stole $cully from us to add insult to injury. Drop dead GWS!!!!

We should all be thankful they have held on to Leon Cameron for so long.

They'd have a flag or two already with a high calibre coach.

Bloody hell @Deeoldfart Where do you live? The set of Deliverance?

As my father in law got me tickets for the Nagoya Grampus soccer game (who are absolutely poo this year), I missed out on the game but checked the scores on my phone.

I watched the relay of the final quarter when I got home. There were two things that I observed (not much of real insight as the game was in blowout territory by that stage).

The first was the irony that our greatest ever win against Carlton came with us in the disco blue strip. How many older Demons get PTSD thinking about the old days wearing that jumper and Carlton giving us a pantsing?

The second thing I noticed was Carlton itself. I think they, like us in 2009-2013, have over corrected. Commentators have come out and said they need to land a decent senior player in the next trade period and they aren't wrong. The quality of senior experience that has walked out of that joint in 5 years would make your hair turn white if you were a Bagger. Had they kept a lot of the players they let go, they would be close to a premiership caliber team.

Instead they have gone down the kids only route for new recruits (like we did) and it's becoming counter productive. The kids are actually going backwards as they have little to no protection (see Jacob Weitering and Jack Silvagni).

Is that a long bow @chook fowler or do you have some black ops intel? Just cause he’s got some emotions?

Reading the tea leaves as one does i dont think it too long a bow to suggest ..well ..1...some familar names won't be so familiar at seasons end...and 2 ...as a result they'll either look around....or be shopped...or have enquiries made of them.

Some that might have been on our best 22 lists at seasons start may struggle to find a spot.

Are they happy to be depth... play the Magoos with occasional elevation....or....

Do they stay or do they go ?

Going to be some surprises...for some.

This is where we want to be as a club. No gifted games, even players who would walk into the 22 in half the other teams have to work their guts out to get a game. Go Demons!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
