I know we are still 5 weeks away from those 2 coming but I was just wondering what demonlanders thoughts were about who makes way for them.

So here's my full strength senior team and Casey team.

B: LEVER, O.MCDONALD, J.LEWIS

HB: HIBBERD, FROST, VINCE

C: PETRACCA, OLIVER, JONES

HF: KENT, T.MCDONALD, NEAL-BULLEN

F: GARLETT, HOGAN, FRITSCH

FOLL: GAWN, TYSON, VINEY

IC: SALEM, BUGG, J.WAGNER, JETTA

EMERG: HARMES

CASEY

B: J.SMITH, HUTCHINS, KEILTY

HB: HUNT, PETTY, BAKER

C: STRETCH, MAYNARD, HARMES

HF: BALIC, PEDERSEN, MELKSHAM

F: HANNAN, WEIDEMAN, T.SMITH

FOLL: KING, BRAYSHAW, SPARGO

IC: KENNEDY HARRIS, VANDENBERG, LOCKHART, C.WAGNER

I know vandenBerg is out for longer than 5 weeks but I put him in anyway.

Still a long way off before those two are fit. Form fluctuates, injuries occur and a six week injury layoff could well be ten or more going by our track record. This is a question to be asked in about 3-4 weeks at the earliest.

ill be happy if Viney makes it back the week after the bye

at the moment it would be Melky for T Mac

and maybe ANB/Harmes for Jack

Probably whoever is injured at the time.

Exactly my answer.

You need 28 genuine AFL standard players on your list. Viney and TMac aren't due back in ages - zero chance of someone not being broken by then.

I’m just as excited to see what happens if the Weid keeps firing. I’m a fan of Pedo (more of the underdog story over the minimal output of a key forward) but hoping the Weid takes his chance this year and makes the forward role his.

Would this see Tommy Mac go back? Would he take Frost/Lever/little bros spot?

I think Werridee has a fetish for posting Melbourne line ups every day.

I guess there are far more sinister fetishes than though. Good luck to him.

Still, all so very speculative re (a) form of those playing and, more worryingly (b) the return of these two fine players.

Cmon .. you're being silly. Oliver & Gawn.

No we replace those 2 with Filipovic and Johnstone.

Petracca and Hogan sounds fair.

I think on current form.

ANB/Harmes for Tmac

Melksham for Viney

And I absolutely rate ANB Harmes & Melksham, they just aren’t playing that well atm.

If Weideman gets his chance and takes it,  the question would be where does Tommy Mac fit??? not who he replaces.

To me he's not yet a guaranteed walk up start.

T Mac plays before Weed and if he is going that well then T Mac will replace Frost.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
