My 3 word player analysis v North Melbourne

Were you drunk when you wrote this one, joeboy?

After last weeks, which was really good, this one is way off the mark.  Your assessment of Salem's game is weird - he was sensational in the clinches with 8 clearances, tough around the contest and had an influence on the game.

Waite was his opponent today and he wasn't at the races ran him ragged. Waite had no impact at all.

Agreed was loose in the 1st but corrected this and played his part no doubt Oscar, Frost, Lever and Hibbo should always be the constant 4 defenders in our set up. With others rotating off half back, finally got the balance right.

Salem?? He was involved in everything! I actually like where is form is heading.

Agree. He did a Jack Viney today.

In the HFF members side a hobbling north player received a decent side bump from Salem while waiting for the ball up and pushed him over just for fun after the Roo player just got to his feet.

A mean streak?

Thought Garlett's steal in the pocket qualified as heroics.

To notch up his 300th goal too!

Jetta is 100% struggling with injury. I sit near the bench and he looks so sore every time he comes off. He also looks slow off the mark, slower than usual. I think he is battling on, because he is Jetta, but he is not fully fit in my opinion.

Salem was excellent, especially in the first half.

Also if only all players were ‘surprisingly held’ for 20 touches, 5 clearances, 8 score involvements and 2 goals like Oliver ?

Watched Frosty closely today. Did some good things but has the unique capacity of being able to outsmart himself. Should always be played alongside a smart footballer.

Would prefer Frost at Casey...we will struggle in big games if we need to rely on him, he's just not reliable. No football IQ.

I hope Petty comes on quickly & Hunt finds form.

Oliver - was surprisingly held

20 disposals 2 goals & 6 tackles...not his best return but Jacobs has taken some big name scalps in the past.

Clarry showed he can handle a tag, great composure for a kid.

They were saying on the radio Jetta has some knee tendinitis that needs to be managed, he certainly did look sore at times today

Lewis wasn’t wayward.

80% disposal efficiency and our best by foot.

Some of his passes were sublime.

Ugh I’ve had that for 10+ years. It’s shithouse. I feel for him!

Think you should take a break Joeboy, rubbish assessment.

Garlett worried North defenders all day and took a lot of off the ball [censored] from them, yet still kicked 3.

I’m not a Salem fan, but credit where it’s due, best 4 quarter game from him ever.

Clarry showed he’s quickly working out how to beat a tag, the move forward in the last should have been tried earlier, easily beat his opponent

Just because he kicked goals in the last doesn't mean it was the only time he was tried there.

He has been rotating forward in the first 3 games as he did again against North.

Good to see him hit the scoreboard yesterday, he will get better at the role.

Jones - continued excellent season ~ tick

Bugg - bobbed up effectively ~ excellent day out

Kent - an encouraging return ~ can he maintain?

Garlett - no heroics today ~ freakyness freaks opposition

Oliver - was surprisingly held ~ earnt his pay

Hogan - prolific all game ~ verge of super-stardon

Petracca - tough and dynamic ~ becoming more Martin

Fritsch - some impressive touches ~ in and out

Lewis - important but wayward ~ head in hands

Vince - steady in defence - excellent again today

Melksham - struggling for form ~ is he injured?

Salem - just a game ~ best MFC game

Tyson - prolific but wasteful ~ usual Tyson game

Wagner - increasing in confidence ~ worth persisting with

Frost - exciting but iffy ~ Lever good influence?

Gawn - dominated the centre ~ best since Jim

Harmes - tough but limited ~ bath water problem

Hibberd - was disappointing again ~ did as needed

Jetta - just a shadow ~ carrying injury probably

Lever - learning to adjust ~ Frost might help

McDonald - made important decisions ~ better than Dunn !!!

Neal-Bullen - didn’t show out ~ requires more consistency

Re Oscar listening on the radio they said on a number of occasions that he had done everything humanely possible to stop Brown but couldn’t. Brown got 4 but 2 were from dubious frees by someone else. I think Oscar had a draw on the night.

Not only that, but Brown kicked at least 1 goal from a down-field free kick.  Nothing Oscar could do about that.

Also, I'm pretty sure Waite kicked one from a down-field free too.

Oscar and Frost worked well.  Can absolutely see our backline fitting the three (inc Lever) moving forward.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
