  1. 1. Will we break our North Melbourne hoodoo?

Probably not now Melksham has opened his mouth. There seems to be a correlation between an MFC player opening their mouth about the importance of the next game, etc and the team turning in an insipid performance in said game.

They match up well on us for inside mids and their talls tend to kill us

It wasn’t a serious question but your points are valid.

Last year we dismissed it and said the hoodoo was a non issue. Goodwin made an effort to say it was in the past and had no relevance.

If we can't win when we dismiss it, then saying the opposite must mean we win.

We could lose every game this season and i wouldn't care as long as we beat North. I [censored] hate North, every encounter with a North fan has led me to hating the club more. Not to mention two games i've attended have both been North belting us by 60+ and 90? points. If we win i'll make sure every North fan knows about it. It's all their [censored] club has going for them. I hope they move to Tassy or fold, [censored] north melbourne.

I was at Blundstone last year and had my entrance into the rooms after game rooms guaranteed.

On principal after the game I declined.

North by 1 point this time !

We should treat every game as if it is an AFLX Round Robin match.

Amen.

I want to win this game more than I want to play finals this year. I know that's irrational, but I just can't stand North!

Every supporter of theirs that I've ever met (all 3 of them?), was a horrible human being.

if we had beaten North twice last year we finish on 14 wins and 6th place and North finish on 4 wins in last place

T Mac and Viney out is a big hit to our on field leadership. importantly our younger leadership that the other young guys follow.  it will be  a close game but I hope and pray we can win

If we don’t I am leaving the country after the game (really), and never coming back!

While you may think that it will be on an airplane with your tail between your legs, I am sure it will be more along these lines.

The fires will have been caused by furious Demon supporters and ironically enough, you may have to be evacuated by chopper from a stadium too!

Me.

After our loss to North in Hobart (North were garbage that day, coming off an 8 game losing streak and we still lost!) I've resigned to the fact that we simply can't beat them.

It's not our fault that Cunnington, Higgins, Waite, Brown, Tarrant, Wood and Ziebell all conspire against us to collectively play their best games of the year.

It's as if Brad Scott says to his players "rest up for a few weeks so you can be cherry ripe for Melbourne."

I'm actually more confident of beating Richmond on Anzac eve than I am North.

I think we will win, but each time I go into Demonland I end up singing "19th Nervous Breakdown" in my head. I blame Whispering Jack.

We should beat the b#$$%^& by 10 goals or more. I am however ready for any result.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
