1. Broke up with a guy because he badmouthed Demons.

2. Rented the 1988 grand final on tape, just to see us play in a grand final.

3. Dated incompatible guys because they were Demons supporters.

4. Actively tried to seek out tapes of our under 19’s/reserves premierships.

5. Walking out of the house during the 1998 final against St Kilda because it was too intense.

6. On having to work on the 2000 (preliminary final, I was fuming) recorded it. Came home. Tried to wait until it finished so I could watch it “live”. Eventually I succumbed to temptation and peeked on the result.

7. For the 2000 grand final, I got out all my old MFC merch and decorated the living room.

8. Numerous humiliating dares l had to do when losing games.

Oh come on. Swan, Bulldogs and Saint first premiership wait was longer than ours

I once flew to Canberra and back in a day to watch us play North in a pre season game....it was about 38 degrees and I almost collapsed of heatstroke at Manuka oval

When Jim Stynes was free kicked against Luke Darcy in 98 and Darcy kicked the winner, I kicked the wall and broke my toe.

When Tingay was not paid a mark against North in 94, I kicked the chair in front of me, which shattered and green shards landed on the ground, just missing about 10 people.

When Neitz jumped into Farmer's back to give the Dockers a win after the siren in 2002, I kicked a wine glass through tbe window.

I could go on, but you may start to think I have anger issues.

I thought (afterwards) that cheering every Melbourne goal loudly from the top of the Adelaide stands last year against the Crows was a stupid thing to do. But we (I had the family with me) got out alive. And boy was it fun.

Especially yelling out “how good was that” to Clarries goal from the pocket.

I missed the Essendon win in 2012. I promised myself never to miss a Melbourne game again so long as I had the time to attend.

I went to every game in Melbourne from 2012 until 2013. Now THAT'S crazy.

I remember going to a 4pm game on a Sunday vs Adelaide at the MCG. Freezing cold. We lost by 10 goals and I stayed until the final siren. There was maybe 5000 people left in the stadium at the end of the game. 2000 Adelaide supporter.

Can't imagine how you've hung on OD, it's only 30 years for me, yet we keep coming back.

I'm a teacher and I have let Melbourne supporting students out of the classroom five minutes earlier for lunch than the other kids.

I have given Collingwood supporting kids yard duties and detentions just for the fun of it.( one who told me " youse are going down " just before a Queens birthday clash.)

Hated that kid !!!!

Perhaps more stupid than crazy:

Wandered into the heart of the  Collingwood cheer squad singing their song outside gate 1(or 2) after the 2012 QB game - which we lost by 30 odd points. I’d had an absolute skin-full and decided it would be fun to sneak my way into their filth huddle wearing my black overcoat and  then flung it open to reveal my colours and burst into ‘Grand Old Flag’.

My mates somehow dragged me out of there and I live to tell the tale.

The things you do when you’re young

Slept outside the MCG from Prelim night till the following Saturday grand final back in 1964 to get the best position in "T" section. Best day and stayed on after the win till Sunday. They opened the "G" up for Melbourne supporters both Sat night and Sunday. Great time and great memories.

Would have given anything to see that. All we’ve been given over the years is the brief highlights with the prerecorded commentary or the extremely poor quality 3 minute footage from the last quarter.

The  craziest  I  have  done  and  continue  to  do  is  when  overseas  on  holiday,  get  my  photo  taken  in  my  Melbourne  jumper  in  front  of  famous  landmarks.   At  the  colosseum  whilst  in  my  mfc  jumper  a  shout  came  from  a  group  of  tourists  GO  DEES.  It  was  unreal  in  that  spot.

That’s not crazy, that’s awesome. I was on a trip to England a few years ago and proudly showed my red and blue in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Went to New York in 2016 and was asked a few questions about it. Might have guys just using it as an excuse to talk, but it was cool with me.

Embarassed to admit I was forced to do one nudey run ?

Attend the 2000 Grand Final with the belief we had a chance to win.   (hey, we played pretty well against them during the season).

I'm going to need some more information on point 8........

Probably only thing I've done was wear my Dee's jumper through Europe.

Have a 12 year old foster kid with us.  He's a great kid.

Saw a jumper at a sports store yesterday, bought it and converted him on the spot.

Poor little bugger.

Cant say I have every been embarrassed by any on my actions while supporting the Dees.

Had an ex wife threaten to leave if I didn't stop carrying on. That didn't work out so well for her.

I often find the games super stressful and don’t like to be overly social when I’m at the ground. I like to watch intently and listen to the commentary through headphones.

If my mates are considering coming to a game and they’re a 50/50 chance of going, I’ll often tell them I’m not able to make it so then they don’t go. Then I go anyway so I can soak all it in without having to chat!

I drove around Subiaco Oval in 2004 after we beat Fremantle hurling abuse at Dockers supporters. I had a 12 pack of eggs on me so I decided to egg a few of them. One guy chased me down and tried to grab me through the window so I put the window up and got his arm stuck. I drove pretty slowly and he had to walk next to the car. My mate in the back put a Demons scarf down the back of his pants.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
