surely the poster was just referring to the way he sometimes behaves on the field when things don't go his way, not the dramas in his life.  I doubt if it was meant offensively at all.

It was offensive it was a comment of off Field drama, because he referred to how many games he would play, not how he acts on field Jesse is no drama Queen and it  appears you think he has one as well

Well I wouldn't go as far as drama queen, but you must admit that his reaction to not getting a free, a bad pass etc is not what it should be.

But he used it in reference to how many games he would play. He never missed a game for being a drama queen

yes and I hope you are right.  It is unfortunate he does seem immature relative to other young players (eg CO). It can't help his game and the sooner he stops reacting that way the better since he is pretty good already.

I have no desire to defend the earlier poster who labelled him a drama queen, but I re-read his post and it doesn't directly  imply he was ever dropped or should be dropped because of that.  If he did mean that, then I'd disagree with him and say his current immature behaviour is minor and nowhere near a level to justify that.

It said who knows how many games he’ll play. What else could he mean?

Has anyone considered that Jesse's responses are not a sign of petulance but of disappointment in himself?

Classic petulant behavior includes failing to maintain interest in the contest. I have never observed Jesse show disinterest or lack of commitment to any contest.

It should be no surprise that when he has to compete against 2 and 3 opponents for poorly delivered and placed balls that he expresses his disappointment. I would be disappointed too!

He has shown the potential to lead us to success. Allow him to develop without the added burden of trivial criticism from those who should be his greatest supporters.

FFS!

Get over your petty Jesse squabbling

Given the obstacles Jesse's had, be grateful a player of his ilk wants to play for us. Short memories.

I guess nothing’s happening today because they’re training at Casey Fields tomorrow?

Plus there's the all important AFLX tournament on tonight.

Nonsense!  It was obviously (well, to blind Freddy and his dog at least) referring to the fact that Hogan’s investment in a game has in the past dropped off rather severely when things weren’t going his way in a game.  Hopefully he won’t, but if he does continue to do that, it’s not much of a stretch to see him being disciplined, which could include relegation to Casey; it certainly wouldn’t be the first time that has happened to a player.  And that behavior is something that he was being criticised for on here, well before his personal issues came to light and had him taking time out from the club.

Surely you have seen him not continuing in a contest because he has stopped to whinge to the umpire?   That's the main thing I'd like him to stamp out.

As for showing displeasure with bad delivery, he is not alone in the AFL for that, so I don't particularly criticise him for that.  But in my view it never sends a good team message.  The player doing the bad delivery usually knows it was bad.

What is this forum for but for trivial criticisms?  What we say here is not going to effect his development.   I don't think the personal trials he has had to endure means as a player he should be immune from discussion here.  We all hope he will turn into to an AA++ player and stay at the Demons.

Last year was undoubtedly a tough one for Jesse, I can’t be bothered with the quibbling over his ‘body language’. He looks to be in ripping shape, can’t wait to see him this season particularly with some time up the ground and in the midfield. With Petracca and Oliver taking a bit of the limelight and a very disrupted 2017, I think we’ve forgotten just how good this Hogan kid is.

Hogan along with most of the key young players on our list are at this stage all potential and not a lot of delivery. Hopefully this is the year that they all arrive on the big stage. We could do anything and everything if they all deliver what we think their potential is.

I did a double, then a triple take as well... I then thought surely he was referring to onfield demeanour... surely..?

Must be a different Hogan to the rising star winner and a player who has dominated a number of games that I’ve seen. Usually has to get the ball for himself rather than via clean passes from upfield!

Fit and ready to fire, he will have a big year in tandem with TMac.

I’m down at Casey Fields and there’s a special atmosphere down here ... almost as if it was a continuation of last night’s action. There’s music blaring as the boys go through their drills. There are no food trucks but you can smell the hot dogs being sold by the South East Demons.

They’re doing match simulation in front of me and Hoges (matched up on Oscar) kicked the first goal and then our marked Oscar, then hit the post. Clarry’s Looking good - he just hit Mitch Hannan on the chest for a goal.

There’s a small rehab group at the sidelines - Jack Viney and Sam Weideman who are both moving well. Jack looks like a mallee bull. They’ve been joined by Joel Smith and Jeff Garrlett who earlier were involved in the training drills.

Earlier Dom Tyson was with the rehab group but he appeared to be in a bit of discomfort.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
