Just toying around with the idea of a trip to Darwin and came upon this little gem about the 2017 match:

"Round 17 of the AFL Premiership Season sees the Melbourne Demons take on the Adelaide Crows at TIO Stadium in Darwin, and is brought to you by the Northern Territory Government.

Join host Tony Modra and 100 fellow Crows supporters, as you travel like royalty on a privately chartered jet to Darwin to cheer on the team to a win.

Enjoy return airfares interstate via private charter , return coach transfers from airport to the game. Premium reserved seating hosted by Adelaide Football Club legend Tony Modra, accommodation is also included."

Crows are winning according to that so no point showing up then?

There is a reason why we always play as the away side v Essendon and it all has to do with clash jumpers and the failure of the afl to make essendon have a real clash jumper

This is absolutely ridiculous. We're the ones who are penalised, we're robbed of a home game against a rival in what could attract 60,000

According to papers our double ups are Crows (one game in NT), Cats, Saints, Dogs and Suns. Not the worst, would've preferred one of Bombers or Blues instead of Dogs but otherwise can't complain. We'll be back to Hicksville again though, I wonder how much interstate games we'll have. We've generally been pretty looked after in this regard where our two NT games count towards 5/6 interstate games hopefully that stays the same.

Looking for some more primetime expose, less Sunday afternoon games and playing at least one of Bombers/Blues at home, though with our ANZAC eve and queens bday home games that's unlikely.

Currently we have locked in home games against

Crows, Cats, Saints, Dogs, Suns, Dockers, Pies & Tigers - leaves room for 3 more, I'm tipping Port, GWS and North.

Obviously we should have run a covert drug trial so we could be rewarded for being so resilient with prime time games, easy draw, and not having to follow the AFL ruling re clash jumpers.  Typical weak act by Vlad and continued with Gil.

I'm usually not into conspiracy theories but it's hard not to think that the afl wants Collingwood and Essendon to make finals or keep their seasons alive for longer as it results in so much money.

Virgin return flights ex Melbourne up Friday night and back Sunday are showing at around: $670

For less than that you can fly return to Phuket. Airlines rip us off in Aus.

In rough order......

North, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Carlton, Freo, Collingwood, West Coast, Saints, Bulldogs, Hawks, Bombers, Geelong, Tigers, Port (such an easy draw, I don't rate them).

We'll be up there with Sydney, Adelaide & GWS imo.

We've had one home game against Essendon in 12 years. I don't think it's to do with clash jumpers.

I vaguely recall a poster mentioning something about a contract between Essendon and either AFL or us that gives them all the home games. I thought it was something to do with Ettihad. Can anyone elaborate? If so, when does this BS end?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
