  1. JV doesn't isn't doing much. He gets to the ball often enough but doesn't do a lot with it when he does. He's a scrapper, no doubt but I don't know that he has much impact on proceedings. What does he bring to this team? Is he carrying the foot injury? Can he be a more productive contributor? Happy to hear what you all have to say.
  2. Some odd calls on this one.. Obviously Fritsch forward, but if Frosty goes to the wing maybe put Preuss on a half back flank.Only gagging. After all, at this stage we are only hoping for a draft pick. Better still - recruit a Lynch or Kennedy type forward. Repeat Repeat Repeat.
  3. Good for you RGRS! Have a great day and have the kids fly the flag.
  4. i just saw it as a hard fought, plucky and gutsy win. Carlton were unable to effect the coup de grace when we were down for the 8 count and that goal by Hunt was delicious in the context of our inaccuracy in front of goal for much of the day. Brayshaw was completely cooked and unable to chase the blues defender off the goal line.
  5. Perhaps as an inside mid he'd still have some relevance but essentially he's due for a rest, maybe due to be turned out to pasture. This can be done with gracet so that he develops a niggling injury, has family issues, needs time away from the game - there are any number of ways to ease him into retirement. And that is where he is headed. I agree with the poster who recognised that he wasn't taken away from the co-captaincy role because Viney is an iffy proposition and the captaincy can't be handed over to him as a stand-alone man so it is a dilemma and to resolve it may well require a vice captain to step up. But if it's Tommy Mac then we have another guy under an injury cloud. There must be a solution and I'm sure it will be found.
  6. Jeez Louise Hema - depressed, faithless and hopeless from your last 2 comments. Drop the negativity. Get a grip, son.
  7. The voice of reason! Really looking forward to seeing Keilty included. he can go forward too I think.
  8. And don't forget : other favoured teams got beaten at the weekend. Weagles for example.
  9. We did look slow, I must say and as for slow individuals : Petracca and Jonesy are 2. Jones fails to hit the scoreboard at crucial times even when he is in the clear or on a set shot. He needs a rest and so does Vines, so Sizzle can be the captain for a bit. Naturally he will need to play better than he did Saturday! Stop picking on Spargo, I thought he wasn't too bad - Keilty can come in for Frost, May for Oscar - and WHAT DOES MELKSHAM HAVE TO DO TO EARN A FREE KICK????? Come on umpire!
  10. I'm expecting to see a bit out of Keilty and Hore as intros to our line-up.
  11. Is it the bright lights? They look a bit wide-eyed!! Maybe Pie-eyed.
  12. I'm enjoying reprising some of these players. And I'd like to find a spot for Clint Bizzell.
  13. Port have good players _ Westhoff cuts us up regularly, for example. Yes, no room for complacency. I think we have the wood on the Power though.
  14. Probably done before at some stage but here is my dream forward line : Farmer Jakovich Neitz Lyon Schwartz Jurrah Couldn't fit in some greats here, such as Norm Smith and others like Robbo and Darren Bennett and can't yet find a place for current players. Not sure whether Fred Fanning should be on some sort of forward line interchange with others.
  15. Make it $20 to be a member. For this you get the scarf, stickers and stuff and the membership base would climb.
  16. Of course it has to be handled 'delicately' AF and I'm sure it will be. I saw Jones slowing in the last couple of games - as he did last year. His day s are numbered and we will be looking to Angus Brayshaw for our next captain.
  17. We used to say this about Doug Anthony if anyone remembers.
  18. Yes! Let's grab Andrew Brayshaw and Zac Jones as well.
  19. I hear he is hard at it but in the 2 games he has played I saw how his disposal was not too good. He got rag-dolled by Mummy in one of those games so that would stop anybody - he fixed Maxy up there one time too. So - he hasn't had a real chance to show us what he's got. If the coaches want to keep him that's good enough for me.
  20. Mur doc - I like what you say there. Kelly? We'll have a place on our list for him. I'd even give him the number that is popular down here at Lorne which is #69. Players wear it with pride and attitude.
  21. Exactly, do away with contracts. After Hawks, Tiges, Filth and Drug Cheats have filled their lists the other teams get what's left. There appears to be no solution when money defines the culture. $cully typifies the gun for hire.
  22. What gets me is that under current AFL "Rules" it is OK to break a contract. The AFL have no moral fibre whatsoever and there are plenty of examples. For eg they would have condoned the Drug Cheats if WADA hadn't overruled them. It's anything goes in AFLWorld.
  23. Yeah, Definitely the egg and spoon race!! Missed opportunity by AFL.
  24. 2 questions : Why were our players slipping over so often? Will McGovern(?) be reported on video review for the throat punch on Viney - the one the umpire saw but missed seeing?
