Gold Coast wants a player for Ablett, expect a player and pick 35 to Gold Coast, Watts and pick 45 to Geelong for Pick 21.

Package up the pick 27 and 36(Adl Pick) to Gold Coast for Pick 22 and 4th Rd pick to be sent to Fremantle for Balic.

Leaves us with Lever, picks 21, 22, Joel Smith and Balic.

Out Watts and picks

Plays out like that I reckon a pretty good trade week

Unlikely but fair to all

not much choice after the way this game has been played.

To say it was amateur is a gross understatement.

Remind me never to ask the MFC list management team to negotiate on my behalf.

How is it amateur though? Is it the method or the decision that you're angry about? i think most people here (for God knows why) are upset that we don't want Watts but Goodwin has been nothing but transparent with Watts and the media.

I don't think Geelong would do that. Assuming pick 45 is nothing (which you simply have to), they're giving up pick 21 for Watts. They wouldn't do that.

And you know this how...?

See, this is the sort of 'opinion' that gets thrown around in this thread until people just believe it as true and they can't remember where it originated from.

Heaven forbid that that would ever happen on Demonland.

How about ....

" we rate Jack highly as a player but after discussions it may be best for him to look around. This being said both Jack and the club agree that if we cannot be adequately compensated for the services of a player whom this club regards as a significant contributor there will be no trade."

The second sentence is the key and leaves room for bargaining as against hanging him and the club out to dry

Yeah, so that's good then that there is bargaining? You just agreed with me. Your quote shows the club has been very compassionate and respectful. All the Watts lovers can't seem to seperate the decision from the method. Goodwin and Mahoney have done it all very professionally and respectfully.

Port had salary cap issues before the trade and rockliff and motlop haven’t helped the situation. Can’t see watts fitting in especially if Melbourne aren’t wanting to pay for his wages. In addition their first pick in the draft is pick 30. Can’t see them giving this up for watts

Do they have cap issues?

Reported to have not had prorata contract increases kick in when new  EBA/Salary Cap finalised. May also have taken advantage of the 95% rule.

Trengrove and Impey would also have freed up 700K+.

Truth or conjecture?

Lets just suppose for a moment Ron might be a lot closer to the mark than wise.

Even from a logical point of perspective .... Players that play together, train together..many socialise together...

Its ALREADY out there that some team mates are somewhat gobsmacked ....

As if the current gen AREN'T going to text etc.

Im leaning towards...truth !! ;)

Can someone please update me on how many list spots we have if we upgrade Joel smith?

And How many picks can we take to the draft? We should be able to work out what Mahoney will do.

Also, what’s the draft value of pick 30 and 33? I reckon watts and pick 46 could be a good trade for 30 and 33.

Pick 46 apparently gone for Balic.

Maybe our next pick and Watts for 30 and 33. Not bad considering we wanted 20 from Cats.

If that was true he would have left no stone unturned to maximise his natural ability.

He never came close.

This is just ridiculous. It's not some Sunday morning kick to kick with your mates. These are professionals, working in a professional environment. Everyone knows what the rules are.

Grasping at straws.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
