If you listen to the reports coming through on the radio. Buckley is set to know his future after the game this Saturday. I see it happening like this.

Scenario 1- A decision is made to sack him and it gets leaked out to the players and they are shattered and turn out a performance along the lines of Melbourne's infamous 186 pt loss to Geelong.. Doubtfully that bad but say we beat them by 10 goals!

2- Melbourne come out as fired up as we did against Port adelaide and Stkilda and then go on with it and crush those flogs and force Eddie's hand!

3- Melbourne lose and the 4 horse men reclaim the earth..

I'm hoping the first scenario occurs!

buckley and mcchins to stay entwined. 2 year deal sounds most sensible

probably the wrong decision given record, only time will tell

Agree 'jnr'...funny that the media are now talking about whether it's about Buckley being a success or Collingwood a success.

When the argument really comes down to proving Eddie right and his ego won't let go.

It's going to be interesting to see who if anyone stands up to him. I think Pert may have and failed.

Whilst their seems screaming logic to this , I'm not so convinced. There comes a time....so the words go. There's only SO much any club can stomach.

I wonder how much irony will come to be appreciated about Sat's game from a Pie perspective ?  i.e  It's US playing on into Sept glory, whilst they aren't even also rans, they are the  crud that makes up the rubble we stand upon. That will gnaw at them intensely.

 

Should Sat go to current plans and I sit among ex Pies  whilst watching them squirm as we have them on toast I might just be able to garner a sense of what their inner sanctum are experiencing.

Heart can't take another dramatic finish. Seems to be happening regularly. Prefer we are streets ahead at 3 quarter time.

I hope they lose badly to us but he's kept on as coach anyway.
I quite like Buckley - he speaks well & is pretty forthright. Good to listen to
I like even more the trajectory that Collingwood have been on during his tenure and I would like to see him continue that fine work

Buckley has finished lower each year he has coached I think. And he took over a GF team.

So its clear he hasn't performed.

Pretty unusual and narrow minded to have a coach's position being in any way tied to last game of season.

I think Buckley's position is safe and i also listen and have respect with what he says. Thought with most positions on coaching, they have usually either handed over, or the event happens with several games to go, to "bed in the incoming".

I actually think he's an okay coach. Their fall down the ladder probably should have been swifter bevause now they've just been lingering mid table for a few years. Imo they haven't really rebuilt yet.

Hardwick was already contracted.  To dispense with his services would have seriously hurt Richmond's ledger so they went the way they did. Seems to have worked ( for them ).

Different at WobblyWorld. So they don't have to go this way at all. They could well get a new fresh start...and build a dept around whoever..
