Guess who we play next week---- Norf--- at last,I hope we give them the biggest hiding ever seen on the planet earth.

Thump the living daylights out of them for all the grief they have caused us in the past.

I would be really really happy just for a win.

We were challenged. When they kicked the first 2 in the last quarter I started to get very worried. A team like the Hawks would know how to slow the play down and make time their enemy, I thought we didn't have the skills or experience to do it. But we did! I cant remember the last time we calmly shut the game down like that. Great work team! So proud of the boys today!

That maybe the silliest thing you say today .

port fought back, they are far from a poor side.

Blaming The Darwin trip is rubbish always has been. Good sides win and poor ones don't.

Obviously we are a bit short on data about the Darwin issue, so I don't know how you can dismiss it OD.  Sure Port faught back as did Geelong, but perhaps it is not a coincidence that the 2 sides that played in Darwin didn't run away with an easy win.   If players really do lose several kilos playing there it is not beyond the realms of possibility that it has an effect.    Good side don't always win for all sorts of reasons.  Merely stating good sides always win is not a king-hit to the concern about Darwin.

Big win!

Hogan making defenders look silly and Milkshake continues to show his worth.

Kudos to Viney and Tyson for having good games 1st start back from injury. Viney especially - what a hard nut

The simple facts are these when we had crap sides we lost because they were crap. We now have a good side and guess what the won against a good side who did not play in Darwin last week.

Through work and pleasure I suggest I have been more than you SWYL I know Darwin well.

In air conditioned comfort no doubt.

How many goals did the Crows kick in the Final Quarter last night, after Dominating for the first 3 Quarters?

I thaught that was close to the best win this year. Our 1st half was really good and the last quarter lock down style impressed me a lot. Port are a good side so you take wins like that any day of the week..

OD you are usually quite logical, but it seems to have deserted you on this issue.  Yes sure we lost in the past because we were crap.  Doesn't prove there is no Darwin effect. For a start maybe we'd have lost by less without the Darwin factor.  I just don't think there is enough data to be able to make strong conclusions about the effect or lack of it at this stage.

Also, some people are affected entirely differently by the heat & humidity.  Put me in it and I'm a wreck for days without losing 4 kilos in an afternoon. Put my daughter into it and she thrives.  I have to suspect the milkman....  (for those old enough to know what I mean.)

No word about how Trenners went. Only the 15 disposals and not many tackles. How did people see his game?

Nothing special but made some good decisions in hot situations.

Take a breath mate. Todd Viney is a Demon Legend, and if you have been around as long as you claim, you would surely know that.

Jack is advancing quickly into demon legends club, but when he makes it, his dad will be the one who opens the door.

Surprisingly i always felt calm. We always seem to get that goal we needed.  It was our great start that helped us big time.

This team has belief. Important win. Best part no injuries assuming max is fine and no stupid suspensions.

Rapt for trenners. He must be happy to sing the song again.

Also i know it's been noted in previous posts but I like how Goodwin comes out and gets around the boys after wins.

If you two geriatrics settled down for a second, you might just put the silly argument aside and bask in the glory of being equal 4th and on our way to our first finals appearance in a decade.

You have never been up North for any length of time, it is so obvious.

BOTH Adelaide and Melbourne ran out of gas in the last Q

We got the 4 points great. But i will NEVER think it is a good idea to sell home games...

All I care about right now, % even that improved.

Thats the way I viewed him also.

No clangers, but when he had the ball, he was quite good.

I don't think Jack will wait for his old man to open the door. He'll smash straight through it!

But our effort all year hasn't changed, regardless of playing personnel available.

I thought Port may make it tight, but I had faith that the boys would not lower their effort levels.

It's really nice to finally have that confidence.

But if I may indulge myself, I'm not sure I have ever seen a more insipid milestone game than the one from Jack Watts today.

1 arm marks, 1 arm tackles. Simply pathetic, and I hope he is embarrassed by his effort.

I only saw the second half but yes it was a poor game from Jack who's returning from injury. He didn't make contests and failed to have an impact.

But wow pretty keyboard warrior stuff there, I'd say Jack would be the harshest critic of anyone so he'll review it and be setting himself for a big one next week.

As for worse milestone games, The Ox in his 150 was disgracefully bad (along with the rest of the team), that following week was the infamous pie face from Newman.

Not everyone can have a good day out on a milestone. Who cares, we won.

Very happy with the win, but i will never agree with selling Home Games to play in the Tropics

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
