Gee I love this club!

Positives everywhere!  Leadership was brilliant tonight - Viney, Jones, McDonald, Lewis etc. all stood up brilliantly tonight.

Clayton Oliver is quickly becoming not just the best midfielder at our club but one of the best in the competition.  What a player.

Petracca into the midfield changed the game for us as well and hopefully he can spend more time in there in the coming weeks.

Big shout out to the backline who, with help from the midfield, kept the Crows to just 66 points.  This is a side who regularly spank teams with huge scores, yet their forwards barely got a look in all night.

I could go on and on and on.... but I think I'll go and watch the replay!

DEMONS!

Viney is back, and brilliant coaching especially putting TMac in the forward line.

The boys really wanted it and they got it!

Goodwin also showed tonight that he can react and change to suit the game - his move of McDonald forward was terrific and adding Petracca to the midfield was a masterstroke.  He isn't afraid to change things up and we are reaping the rewards because of it.

It also shows how much the players trust him as well.  Great stuff all round.

Great win but just goes to show that's it all between the ears for the boys.

We lose against teams which we should win against and win against teams we should lose against.

If we can fix that on a consistent basis the the competition is our oyster.

What was that?!

Kept Adelaide to 66 - their lowest score at Adelaide Oval since Round 9 2015 against Fremantle (minor premiers and defensive kings that year). Indeed, that's Adelaide's second lowest score at the Adelaide Oval ever.

What an incredible win.

We're out of the 8 at the end of this round but we'll only be a game behind 4th (which is a Geelong team that is average at best).

Clearly, we have the capacity to be a dominant side this year.

Cannot wait to watch the replay!

Un(bloody)believable.  I'm hoarse from watching the game on TV for God's sake. So, so proud to of our boys.  Courage, determination and desire to stick to the game plan.  We found a way to win, and then we went on with it!  I'll be wearing my member's cap to bed tonight.

Oliver's goal is one of the best I've ever seen because it was 100% deliberate.

Up there with Carey's in 1999.

A banana is usually hit with the foot swinging back into the field, Clarry just decided to aim his foot towards the stands and hit it so hard that it curled like an absolute mother!

Well 99% on here wanted Kent in for JKH and whilst the latter did kick a telling goal it sounded like Goodwin may have been vindicated somewhat (Kent didn't play a great deal better than JKH).

Picking up Hibbo also Goodwin's choice by the sounds of it. Just need Trekkers and Gus to make a move.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
