Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jude Bolton on ESPN listed the 5 most improved players this year. Given his obvious Swans bias he put Zac Jones first but had Clarry second...

LOL Jones ahead of Clarry..  laughable.

Ones already a superstar who might win a Brownlow at 19, the other is the Swans version of ANB.

Out in front of ANB running at full pace?

Yeah, it just showed great vision and precision to execute a 15-20 metre lefthanded handball to Neal-Bullen who didn't need to break stride.

The wide angle shot and not the replay shows how good it was.

This kid is just amazing.  His vision and speed of hand out of a contest is sublime.  It is a different skill to something like a Dangerfield or a Fyfe, but it is so valuable.  He has a high hand pass to kick ratio, and given the places he finds himself, I think that is OK.  I love the fact he plays for the Dees.

You're a star, Dees_in_O

And when you see it from side on in normal play it's a very long handball.  Oliver is a freak.

Also on his opposite hand...for someone seen to be one sided with his handball he's a quick learner.

Just another string to the bow.

Oliver should probably make a brilliant Chess Player. He has a rare ability. Not only is he sublime of physical attributes but he can project where other ought to be , even before they seem to know lol.

Very few ppl can read the play at his level.

I have said this before. I am sure he gets more disposals that are too quick for statisticians to see. At stoppages, in an in and under situation then all of a sudden a Melbourne player has is, how did he get it? Oliver. His hands can be so quick that you don't see it or the umpire thinks it must have been a throw. I have also noticed a couple of other MFC players seem to be adopting his style at times, love it.

Oliver is gem!

He needs to kick more, he needs to get more uncontested, he needs to score goals, needs to be more versatile

All fair critisizm levelled at Oliver IMO

However that handball, plus their was one to Jones in our F50 where he forced to Jones to attack it and he snapped a goal is the sort of skill you cant teach. Its rare and only the very best have that vision. Try and picture yourself getting the ball surrounded by 15 blokes and being able to see a 20m handball on your non dominant side. Remarkable.

Geez, we have a superstar and he's not going at the rate of knots that a 24 yo may be as a 19yo - FMD peoples need for instantaneous brilliance is remarkable. He's played 23 games... this stuff will come.

Surely he would be into double digit Brownlow votes after 10 rounds.

Hes into 26/1 this morning on Sportsbet. There are 8 other players in front of him. Dangermouse, Martin, Sloane, Bontempelli, Josh Kelly, J. Selwood, Tom Mitchell, Zach Merrett.

Got him at $61/1 with $20. Not expecting him to win the brownlow waiting for nice cash out amount.

Credit to ANB in this play as well.

Obviously Gingerfreak gave an incredible handball on his non-preferred, from a pack situation, and STILL managed to hit a team-mate on the run............But it also took quick thinking from ANB to understand it was even a possibility. A few others might well have been sucked into the pack, but ANB kept moving.

Im really warming to the lad.

Good bet. In my experience however, they dont offer you very much on the Cashout unless it looks like he is gonna win, or close to it, in which case its another gamble! Good luck with that tho.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
