Reminds me of Nat Fyfe when he was a rookie.

Funny you should say that.  After watching his higlights, I thought the same thing.

His disposal looks - well, from the highlights package - elite. I like the look of this lad.

Who is this guy ?  What needs does he fill ?  Why did they not find a ruckman ?  And who is this guy ?

Demonland - the place where everyone thinks the Emperor's wearing but only the finest of robes.

Not everyone, but I get what you mean.

So many question Milesh. He's a middle order left hand bat and a handy slow left arm orthodox tweeter, we must be needing an all rounder, that is all I know.

How long have you been waiting to drop that gem?

Now that's the kind of pie-eyed delusion that I can only admire.

How long have you been here? Land has burned a few naked emperors at the stake over the journey...

I know it's only NEAFL but he has excellent skills and lays a great tackle and is a good size. Nice pickup by Mahoney and co, he is the sort of backup players required at Casey who will have to work hard to get a spot in the Seniors.

He's gone from struggling to get a game at a club with a super deep and competitive midfield to another club with a super deep and competitive midfield.

Good on him though. Carlton would've been the easier, if not more depressing, option in the circumstances.

The club has already said they are going to draft a ruckman - clearly they have someone in mind! Max mark ll?

Two bad draft picks for a better draft pick and a player.

Makes sense

Obvious salary dump to fit Deledio in.

We were smart enough to make ourselves available to GWS when they were looking for someone with a bit of cap space.

It's not the cap, all about draft points. GWS open up a spot on their list, allowing them to take another pick to the draft which we gave them, giving them more points to use on academy players.

Good to see we're still making the most of the points system, even after the rules changed.

I was thinking more Buddy Franklin. But now that you mention it.

Looks ok in the highlight reel and he's got a couple of years to make his mark, or not. Welcome aboard Patrick, if you're like the other picks we've had lately, you'll be ok.

Bit of balance, two mature age and one youngster, it's always good to get some young talent in every draft.

So, what we have here is a 6'2" player who is rated an elite endurance runner but doesn't have great burst speed and is a good kick and decision-maker.  He's just come off hip surgery so it might take a while for him to settle in and start producing.

Didn't we trade him to Port a year or so ago?  :)

But in all seriousness, from the highlight package the kid has pretty good skills and he goes when it's his turn.  He looks to be the sort who won't shirk the contest which will win him a lot of points with our playing group.  I hope he's quicker than he looks because that is still a huge issue for us, but for a more or less free hit he could be value.  I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

I don't normally take much from highlight packages but this kid has a very well weighted kick. Time after time. Floating 20m dinks might not look very glamorous but this is exactly what we need with our delivery to Hogan and Watts - so they're not continually stuck trying to offer them up to each other.

Went to a draft information night the year we drafted Rohan Bail - his Qld Senior League highlights reel looked fantastic.  Loved Rohan but the AFL is a big step up.  Best of luck to Pat!

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
