I am watching it now and Go Dees. Some serious talent there. Mo Hope for the dogs is a gun, and Cale Morton is also playing well.

I was wondering the same thing...Well done for starting thread.

I am watching it too and enjoying it.

The women certainly put to bed the notion that it takes years to learn a game plan.

Exiting, attacking footy which will only improve when the league takes off next year and games become more regular.

Also no one has played for a free/ducked their head yet....

Geez, we're losing both Harris and Frederick-Straub from our forward line, to the marquee players rule. Annoying, because it looks like good marks are the main premium type.

There doesn't seem to be any of the bullsh*t umpiring decisions in this game either!

Must have been taking lessons off Jessie

It's spelt 'Jesse'. If you're going to have a dig at him, at least know how to spell his name.

Taylor Harris kicks further than Hogan......

Was just thinking that myself. She is a booming kick, and has magnificent hands also. Bloody good looking too. A face that sells memberships.

Shame she is a Lion now.

That Dees defender that signed with the Crows as a marquee player doesn't take any crap. Quite tough and physical.

Brilliant, I am a convert. Exceptional skills, players playing to position. This is not girls footy it is women's footy and it is fantastic to watch. Best thing that has happened to football for a long time. Transformational.

Yeah strange we didn't try to get her as a marquee player?

I'm really concerned my AFL season stress will continue to the women's format..... Usually summer is a time for me to unwind!

Have to agree - exciting game, quite different from the men's game. Hopefully it'll go from strength to strength.

I would like to have had Harris. She is fantastic.

This is the best of the best playing for 2 teams. Once the talent is spread out it won't be nearly as good to watch.

This game is a good spectacle though.

Tayla Harris is a Queenslander, so probably natural that she'd go to the Lions.

Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
