Love his effort, however, I'm coming To the conclusion he lacks genuine class. Too many mistakes and poor situational awareness.

also gets destroyed when tagging big bodies like Cripps and Dangerfield. Him not stopping Dangerfield early gave them all the momentum.

Tagging a quality player like Dangerfield is all part of his education, he'll learn a lot from that.

got beaten by the Brownlow medalist in the first five minutes and never recovered.

Well he's not perfect... We all know his disposal and decision making are a weakness.

It just seems completely unnecessary to start a thread about it after a loss like that. Seems kinda petty, he's one of the least of our concerns.

I reckon its the worst game I've ever seen him play today...

In saying that he's a young kid carrying a big load, pretty much our No.1 now.

Another year under the belt will be good for him

He is supposed to be an offensive player and not a tagger. Besides from that his disposal is usually C grade.

Appears totally flummoxed if he is forced to his right.

Dangerfield gave him a footy lesson today which equates to one thing!

You can have all the endeavour and G & D in the world , but if you have limited skills then the silk will always find you out!

IMV Clarrie a better player !! And dont get me started on Ollie Wines!

Only 22, plays a draining, physically demanding, bullocking game. Needs another couple of pre-seasons (at least) to get his body where it needs to be to consistently perform at this level.

(not alone on that score though).

Where was a Thread When he was starring earlier in year. There is too much negative & not enough posotive this bloke would die for the club. How about going after players that don't put up effort reguarly instead of going after Viney he is not the problem

I know you're a bit special, but you know Wines has a rep for poor kicking right?

People are quick to start threads like this when form drops. Those that know and have courage will call out a players limitations when they are playing well like Viney mid season. Firstly he is not a tagger, he is a natural hunter of the ball and man. This has been shown the last two weeks where he gets confused as soon as he is told to play a minding role. Secondly, the maturity of his body does not yet allow for his combative style for a full year. Another pre-season and this will improve further again. He is one sided but I think he is more prone to making a poor decision rather than not executing well. Of course his form fluctuates with Gawns performance any first dibs mid would. He is so far from our issues the thread is a tad comical.

Tad comical doesn't even cover it, Viney is still two pre seasons off his prime, what he has contributed this season has been outstanding

You do know that the 6 posts you have contributed to this board are all negative

wouldn't be surprised if jv has been playing with an injury the last few weeks

I am certain he was injured from the port game onwards. Against Port I missed the opening bounce but the commentators on radio said he started on the hff (not in the centre). He barely went near the ball all game.

Dare say it would be a decent injury too because he has got form playing with broken legs and hands.

My god this thread is rubbish, he started the season as one of the best mids in the comp and he's tired and been tagged, he's very young, he'll learn and build his fitness like the rest of our side.

i am 100% sure Jack Viney is of no concern to the coaching staff, he'll be a jet for the next 10 years, it'll be for the MFC and he'll be our next captain, he got touched up by Danger sure, but basically everyone who's come up against Danger this year has.

Has a lot to learn but still young with plenty of time on his hands.

To me he needs to learn when to go and when not to, to open his eyes a bit more and take some pressure off himself.

Selwood and Danger would've been licking their lips when they didn't have Viney and Vince lining up on them from the start.

I'm in no doubt Roos coached this team to deliver an unspoken message on the weekend.  He then justified it during his presser.

While he's a heart and soul player, I don't think Viney was immune from receiving the message.  Starting him on Danger ensured he received it loud and clear.

I missed the presser billy, what was said and what was your take on it? Can't watch the footage at work unfortunately.

Ain't no man was capable of stopping Dangerfield on Saturday.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
