Nine is the bare minimum.  I think it will be between 9-11.

 

I agree with all four of your points. 

Looking at it objectively we are well placed to finish the year strongly.

We're in good shape injury wise and have good depth.

We're a high scoring side that will cause problems for any team who does not get their defensive zone right.

If we bring our best intensity and our opposition doesn't we will beat allmost all teams.

And i think we are improving as our game plan becomes more instictive. I also think that we have 3 of our best 22 to come back in, brayshaw, h and salem.

One other factor: as the reality statrs to dawn that roos is leaving the players will lift and be desperate to win for him

Its a pity we are not a realistic chance of making finals.  it is such a motivating factor and as much as the players would say and believe that they are trying 100% for the rest of the season, you try an extra 10% when you are playing for something tangible

Agree - I think we are a big chance against Adelaide. Then the next few after that are very winnable. Hopefully we win enough to keep us in the race going into the last month. Would be very exciting!

How the rest of the year goes will heavily hinge on next week v Adelaide. I feel like Adelaide is a very good team when they click, I also feel that at the G we can beat them. If we get that win I can see the confidence lifting in the team to win more that have been difficult for us in the past. 

I still see 10 wins for the year, that Essendon loss has cost us a real shot at seeing finals this year. That was every bit the disaster a lot of us thought it would be.

We really havent done much this year to justify the optimism a lot of you are showing. We have improved for sure, but are still a very ordinary side coming from a disastrously low base.

Oh, and Freo will put us to the sword ( Hoping to convince Hogan that they are a better bet than MFC ), as will Geelong, WCE  and possibly The Sainters (Etihad factor).

Would not be at all surprised if we finish on 7 or 8 wins.

Rubbish.  Total and utter rubbish.  We've been in every contest this year - even last weekend, up until three quarter time, we were only 4 goals down.  We are in with a shot in each game will play in the final 9 rounds, and this defeatist attitude above is well off the mark.

I personally dont think we are good enough to be considered near certainties against anyone but GC.  At least 3 heavy losses ( 7 goals plus) amongst that lot i reckon. If we win only 1 or 2 more i would not be the least bit surprised. Look, you can knock yourself out with all the positive vibes you can muster, but until the end of the season my opinion is just as valid as yours. Give me a number of games you think we will win and we can compare come years end. For me its 2 tops 

I will be very very happy if we win more than that ofc, and my prediction doesn't mean i HOPE we lose most of the remaining games, but i think we will as most seem to agree that young teams tire, and ours is the youngest of them all by a fair margin.

Not angry, just can't believe the defeatist attitude.  

We are win with a shot, and can beat, quite a number of sides in the final 9 rounds.  Gold Coast, Carlton and Fremantle are games we should win.  We are in with a chance against Port, Adelaide (because it's at the G) and the Saints (don't give me the Etihad stuff, they're beatable).  To me, we can put at least 4 more wins on the board and finish with 10 for the season.

My attitude is born from 10 years of utter junk and i am entitled to it.

 

We are still very overrated until we start bringing home the bacon regularly. Not 1 big upset per season against a contender, and a few wins against rubbish teams. Our credibility was shot when we let the Druggies beat us.

I say 2 wins, you say 4.

Lets compare notes at seasons end. (Hope you are right)

Eventually we will become that club that doesn't consistently lose the games we're meant to win (Essendon, probably Saints and Port, all 3 of whom beat us the same freaking way), and wins a few scalps against contenders (the North game killed any chance of finals for us, in my eyes).

It just isn't going to be in 2016.

Fremantle, St Kilda and Carlton are far from probable wins. We *should* beat all three but don't match up well with them and in the right conditions they could beat us. St Kilda is far from probably. It's more like a probably loss considering their form and where we're playing them.

I would be very surprised if we went into any of these games bar Gold Coast as hot favourites.
