Been offered one week for this dog act on the Hulk.

Bernie Vince gets called garbage for a slap yet Ceglar doesn't cop any heat for a blatant elbow

Deliberate. High. Behind play, Medium force- bowled him off his feet and took a while to get up.  We should appeal!!  Jesting but surely Ceglar should get more than 1 week.

Piece of [censored] of a human being.

I hope they circle this spuds name when we neet them next. I want a line in sand moment against the these [censored] cheats. Stick of being bullied by them year after year!

That is pathetic An Elbow to the jaw! Ive only just seen it... It is a disgracefully lenient penalty. That should go to the tribunal.  Ceglar.... remember that name.

2 down to 1 match?

2 matches would be around the mark.

Agreed.

Ive watched the first 3 quarters of the replay a few times and I can't get over how good Bernie Vince was in stepping up. Not only by getting involved in everything all over the ground, winning the ball, kicking on but also general hardness. Also, when Mitchell grabbed his own neck grimacing - as though he'd been hit high, Bernie started shoving into him again! Calling him out.

I hope they bring this kind of agressive, tough, contested MFC brand of footy next time we meet them - AND that they get stuck into Ceglar, big time. Dogs.

The Hawks seem to be able to get away with anything - Mitchell's repeated kneeing, Hodge crashing opponents into the point post etc etc ...... Minimal or no penalty.

I thought that the MRP were coming down hard on head high contacts, off ball contacts...... what a confirmation that they are just a corrupt body.

Wow, when you look at that he's very, very lucky to only get a week. Had the media had 3 days of replaying that before the MRP met you'd think he'd get 3.

The MRP rulings need to have a third party that can intervene on behalf of the game. The Hawkins thing is a joke. I hate Geelong but it's a very poor system when an effort to appeal your conviction risks more time. The punishment either fits the crime or it doesn't. This whole 1 week down to 2 thing is stupid, as it's irrelevant. It implies you're 'lucky' to get suspended, but have no genuine recourse to appeal, or even question it.

How did jonas get 6 weeks and ceglar such a paltry penalty. What was the difference other than cellars was behind play. It was cowardly.

Good comparison

Just watched AAA and they highlighted how good Rioli was in the last. 8 tackles or something but did anyone else think almost all of his tackles were slings?? They do get away with a lot the hawks imo.

A hawthorn player only a few weeks ago elbowed his opponent in the testicles and got cleared.

Hawks and swans get a free ride.

Amazing the lottery that is our MRP, if it wasn't so depressing it'd be funny.

I reckon Jesse will have that one in the memory banks for when we play the Hawks in a few weeks time.

They've always been dirty, gutless, cheating snipers and always will be. And always will be allowed to be.

Everyone wanks over Hodge and Mitchell but they are two of the dirtiest players I've ever seen.

It goes right back - these two, Campbell Brown, Dermott Brereton, Leigh Matthews. I've named five in three seconds off the top of my head (admittedly over a long period of time, but with more thought I'm sure more would come to mind).

I don't think I could think of that many genuinely dirty Melbourne players if I tried. Except Grinter and Pickett.

Feel sorry for Jones. Donating a fair amount of cash to the MRP for wrestling this year.

I hope the team all chip in for these fines where the offence is flying the flag for team mates. I would if I was on the team.

Ceglar is a fu$=#&n weak dog.

I find this amusing.

So...when Bernie threw the elbow earlier this year and got a weeks holiday - is he also a Piece of censored ? and a weak dog ?

There are certain acts that need to be called for what they are  - and Rance's hit on Watts and Jonas's hit deserved to be highlighted but rather than call players weak dogs I would prefer they were called idiots. It is obvious to me that nearly all players don't premeditate these acts ( although Casboult absolutely premeditated running into Robinson). Nearly all acts are brain fades as all players know that the cameras picks up everything. These acts are a moment of stupidity.

So is Bernie Vince and Jack Viney (who threw a combination of punches a couple of weeks ago) also weak dogs ?

Are you serious? Two completely different scenarios.

Hitting someone from behind when they are not expecring it at all and then running away is one of the most coward act anyone can do. Whether its on a footy field or a night club its potentially a seriouse injury and fatal.

If any of our players did it i would be filthy as a supporter. Like i was with Viney last week.

Umm   - have a look at it again - he hits Hogan with the elbow to the face and Hogan is facing Ceglar  - it is not from behind as were the Rance/Jonas hits. ( not sure how can look at this vision and suggest he is hit from behind ????)

I am not condoning the action and IMO whilst it is slightly less dangerous when you are facing someone as you have a split second to get your hands up ( as opposed to Rance and Jonas when you don't see the punch coming) in football all punches whether front on or not are dangerous as I don't believe footballers believe they will get whacked in the head from an intentional punch or elbow whether facing the opponent or not.

I saw Jones spear tackle Ceglar into the ground without the ball early in the 3rd quarter and get stuck into him on the ground.. I'm not sure if his fine for wrestling resulted from this but he flew the flag and let Ceglar know about it. Good skipper looking out for his own

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
