Apparently, according to Twitter, if Rance's dog act of a hit is judged as intentional with low impact to the head, that's one week.

The system is [censored]. There's only an offence of "striking". An open hand is the same as an elbow or a punch (or a knee, I think?). A strike in a fight is the same as a strike to a defenceless player on the ground, to the back of his head.

Absolute dog act from Rance which deserves 3 weeks but will only get 1 as the MRP will get a medical report from Melbourne which says Watts is fine, therefore only "low" impact.

Viney's deserves to be thrown out on the basis of insufficient force but a fine would not be surprising. 1 week would be appalling.

They have the option to go direct to the tribunal if the criteria does not match.

"Impact" I'm led to believe includes:

- The medical result
- The potential for injury
- The physical force

Based on potential for injury and force I'd say it's going to be more than low. But I don't really care. Rance has been a ball player and a good player for a long time now.

This is nastier than Vince's cheeky elbow, but as long as Watts is ok I'm not out for Rance's blood.

Watching it again, it's cowardly, but it's a forearm not an elbow or punch.

There's a pretty important distinction there. Only so much you can down clipping a guy with you arm even if it's using his head like a basketball.

If it was a clean elbow or fist it would be far worse.

Rance will almost surely miss the Dixon match up against Port. That'll do me.

Would be DQ'd in the UFC.

Speaking of, that takedown defence from Viney, and counter takedown!

Talk about rag dolled. Viney is a beast.

I think everyone is lucky Rance didn't do more damage, not sure how many medicarts there are at the G, but Viney would be stacking them.

Viney is a dead set beast... Never seen a Melbourne player attack the footy like he does. He is a bull at a gate. Fast becoming my favorite player.. He'll never have the sublime skills of an elite midfielder but he knows this and plays within his limitations... I knew he'd take the next step this year, quickly becoming an A grader. Love how he flies the flag, last week when Toovey pushed Tyson into the post he was first in their. Absolutely love jack, one player you'd want to go to war with!

My only comment to Viney would be to drive his hands through his chest and send him flying. If the decision is reversed I can live with that but we don't want to him suspended

Having looked at it several times, he no more than pushed him in the chest. It was not a punch as such. He will get a fine at most.

No

Only impact will be whether he gets extra 'mateship' Brownlow votes for his response in the ANZAC match!

That was a beautiful palm to Rancids throat by JV.

After that the Jehovah knocked on the wrong door and got rag dolled by a pure Demon.

His third embarrassment in the play after being outmarked  by Watts.

We are luck Viney didn't break Rances larynx .

He pulled the karate chop enough to avoid suspension in my opinion.

The boy Viney is displaying leadership and grunt not seen at the club since RDB.

Viney is fine. If he didn't poll 3 brownlow votes for his game then he should get them for sorting out that scumbag rance.

Loved Buggys game also. Antagonised cotchin and co all night long. Apparently Trac doesn't mind mouthing off so we might be building a team of players who will get under the oppositions skin.

What are you guys on?

Open hand retaliatory push to the chest, maybe up to neck?

Still, it is the MRP.  Wait for 'Rance unintentional low impact - no case; Viney intentionally  high impact - 3 weeks'.

Rance hit the deck faster than Sonny Liston

Nice work.

Viney gets a fine. If he gets a week lets hope their is balance and rancid gets three.

Channel 7 is an absolute disgrace! Frazil Basil had the guts to say afterwards that "You gotta feel for Rance"

Get [censored] you cubts! How the hell does Rance get the sympathy card yet nothing said about the bloke that got hit cowardly!

Exactly the reason why i never listen to channel 7. Thank god for Fox Footy and Triple M..

Totally agree.  I like Carey, but he then spent the next minute or so trying to defend Rance's actions.  Rubbish.  The bloke committed a dog act and there is no excuse for it.

With Carey's history I'm not suprised he does not think a cowards punch is a big deal.

Shouldnt even be allowed on TV let alone draw a pay cheque from it.

He should be hosing out portaloos in Wagga for a living using Rance as the brush.
