Typical Dwayne Russell comment on 3AW just now.  Thankfully Richo and Gerard put him in his place.  I agreed entirely with Richo that JW in a better team would be even better, but I'm just glad we are starting to find form and he is reaping the benefit of time in a particular role.

He has always had the ability, and as we get better his impact will be even greater.

That's hilarious,if Frawley can get a game with Hawthorn, and guys like Shoenmakers and young Sicily, then Watts would be a shoe in.

With Sam Mitchell and Burgoyne feeding him he would probably kick six every week.

The only way Duh-Wayne would be put in his place is with a dirty big punch in the mouth.

PS - Mods, I am not condoning violence, but rather, trying to be pragmatic.

Dwayne wouldn't get a game at Hawthorn! Even in his heyday (did he have one?) It becomes obvious in his calls that he gets by on a bloated, hot-air approach to life. Unfortunately, Footyinfotainment now supports this lifestyle. Jack Watts is so much more gifted as a player and as a person that it's probably silly of me to even point these things out in my post! I take it for granted that my long standing site moniker is universally recognized as a parody of Dwayne!

Seriously who thinks dwaynes opinions are even relevant. He's an awful commentator and $hit kicker at best.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention  Itsabouttohappen. I appreciate knowing what certain commentators are saying even though I don't give a damn for

Dwayne's opinions. Twice in four weeks in the team of the round Jack Watts, well done and Dwayne doesn't think he would get a game at Hawthorn?>  Who is Dwayne trying to suck up to now? I know he says he sees it how he sees it yet compared to any other commentator he is the one that I always feel he is talking to someone else, that he has other agenda going on that has nothing to do with what is in front of the rest of our eyes.  An Awful Commentator. His own personal projections always shake you out of the match that you are watching and make you wonder "Where the Hell did that come from ?" As you can imagine the Mute gets used often here. (Footy infotainment supports this life style as WayneRussell says.) And if it wasn't for the real fact that   -  It's about to Happen I think I was about to give up on all this footyinfotainment - and approaching 70 yrs that would have been easy to do. I saw a quarter of the Casey game on Sunday and with 3 or 4 of my favourite players out of the main game on Sunday I am looking forward to a few yeas of good footy viewing

Watts needs to be consistent and if he was at Hawthorn he would spend a lot of time in the two's.He may end up being a success.

When I saw the heading I thought ,"Oh No! Not someone starting a JW negative thread". So glad it was not that as Jack has done everything right this season. He is showing his true ability now.

Edit :  I now notice the heading has been changed which is more accurate in its meaning.

Dwayne is a bully. He punches down and sucks up. Shocking piece of work.

They all do- and the umpires follow suit.

Dwayne Russell played 5 seasons at the elite level. He averaged 10 games a season, 14 disposals a game, less than 1 tackle a game and gave away twice as many free kicks as he got... hardly a reason to puff his chest out about!

Anyone who thinks Jack Watts would struggle at a top four team just isn't a credible analyst. Everything I have ever written about Jack is now evident to everyone but the those who are more interested in their profile than the evidence.

Yeah Clarko has never really been a fan of players who can kick the ball really well and are quick.

The million dollar question is who to blame for Watts' slow development, him or us, but his talent has been on show for a long time now. All about making sure it he keeps playing well.

FFS Kyle CHeney got a game. Even Jack Fitzpatrick has gotten a game. DerWayne is the biggest k-nob in media.

Half the Hawthrn coaching staff are from Melbourne. We do alright....

And they would jump at someone with Jack's skills.

Reckon watts is benefitting from quicker ball movement. Would rather us move it down the ground and have him one out rather than chipping is down slowly and watts having to take a pack mark

Jack won't have to worry about making the Hawthorn team this year... they will drop out of the top four to be followed by a drop out of the top eight two years down the track!

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
