I guess we wait and see how garlett goes tommorow, if petracca was playing they would have made a big deal about it like they have done with the other debutants, I guess they could still do that tommorow, problem I now have is I told myself I wouldn't miss tracs debut if it was in Melbourne, but I have to work Sunday and don't finish work till 6pm and being an hour away no way I will make it, but if they say he is playing tommorow well I might chuck a sickie, if they don't name him tommorow I hope he plays at Casey as I would be [censored] if he was emergency and got a late call up and I miss it

Well said. Sentiments same as mine (and name as well).

But let me offer you some free full stops '.........'  - I ran out of breath reading your post.

We will see, but I don't think so. Garlett mustn't have came up.

sigh...

He hasn't even done his fitness test ffs. Il try and make it as simple as possible.

IF GARLETT PASSES A FITNESS TEST PETRACCA DOES NOOOTT PLAY.

And to note i am not yelling. Im banging my head against a brick wall trying to explain that just because tracca is named doesn't mean he will automatically play. Ge is officially on stand by for Garlett. The only reason he will play is if Garlett FAILS his fitness test.

I doubt anyone knows if Garlett will play yet, it all depends on tomorrow's session.

tomorrow's session or a fitness test on saturday?

Honestly, I'd rather Garlett played because I'm not comfortable going up against Richmond with another super-young team. We need to balance out the youth of types like Wagner and Hunt by playing experienced bodies; we took a huge risk last week with so much youth and it paid off, but it definitely won't every week.

Vince and Garlett returning is a huge injection of senior talent and exactly what we need on the big stage Sunday. I've a feeling this game will be won or loss depending on the experience of our players; they will need to adapt to whatever inept plan Hardwick implements, and senior types will be far better equipped to achieve this than first-gamers.

I believe Petracca will debut and that the club already know Garlett hasn't came up. I will be shocked if Petracca does not debut.

Love the thought of Petracca in our forward line on Sunday, it's just what we need up there and I reckon Hogan will also lift off the back of it. He won't want to be outdone. Everyone's a winner baby.

Also, I wish people would stop with this tacky 'CP5' business.

Why raise the potentiality of Petracca playing just JUST to tease?? Nope if you are gunna name him from, then logic suggests that he is right to go! If he Is right to go given Casey Form and him being beyond VFL standard and if he is ready PLAY HIM!

Remind me again...how many full games is it that Petracca has played at Casey this year?

Also seems like Matt Jones' 'soreness' is a nice way of saving face. Look Matt, you've been really solid, but ultimately you're not best 22 when we've got all this talent to select from.

Jones was definitely injured last weekend, and this move has been flagged all week.

Petracca is listed as an emergency, so there is time on Friday or Saturday to release a video of him calling his mum or dad telling them he is now playing. Announcing him as an emergency stokes the interest in this game and who's in or not.  All eyes will be on tomorrows training. interesting the mixed feelings it brings out, do we want Jeffy to have another week off, or want him in possibly at the expense of Petracca who we have waiting so long to see run out in the red and blue.

I just want whoever is fittest to play.

As much as I'd love to see petracca play, garlett is a must if he gets up. He is a 6 goal difference with himself capable of getting around 3 goals plus at least assisting in another 3. Also allows players like Ben Kennedy and Kent to be even more damaging as a lot of the attention is paid very close to Jeff

The tracc gave himself thr CP5 moniker - which is kind I'd funny. Anyway if its good enough for the tracc its good enough for me. Go CP30!

I think Tracca will play. The Garlett fitness test smells of a smokescreen to take pressure off Petracca and not cause a fanfare.around his debut

People saying that if Trac was debiting there would be a video of him being told by Roosy or whatever dont understand the difference between Petracca and someone like Wagner or Hunt.

Massive expectations vs none

We need Garlett. He'll give us at least 2 goals for free (i.e. he'll pull them out of thin air, possibly against the run of play, when we most need them).

As to Petracca, Roos seems to like naming players from Casey on the extended bench to say, 'you're close'.

Another good game from Petracca this week in the VFL and he'll debut against the Saints - probably the game they actually had pencilled in for his debut at the start of the season proper.

He'll be raring to go. Might even eat a Saints' midfielder's head on the field before the opening bounce.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team.
