Casey will be awesome this year (as will the Dees)! An excellent return from our recruiting department yet again.

I was annoyed when the club rookied Jetta and he'd shown a lot less than Viv.

All the best to him- hope he makes the most of this opportunity!

Seems to do alot right, the only thing i've ever heard about viv is that there are a couple of things the coaches want him to do more to hold his spot at AFL level, i suspect one is tackle.

Good opportunity for him to show that he still has what it takes to make it.

We could do worse than have him as a depth player.

Welcome back Viv, and all the best.

If you do a Jetta I think all of us will be very pleased!

He will play in round 1 ... a big pre season ahead and a spot on the wing.

The wing for a slow, below average fitness midfielder who isn't a great kick? Don't think the wing is his go. He'll be in with a shot for round 1, but will need a long term injury to play and unfortunately for Viv's sake I hope we don't have one.

We do have 4 rookies now who must all be in with a chance to play, none of them are super raw projects. So we must have liked Hulett in the national draft otherwise having 5 rookies would've given us more freedom to play them.

The only way Viv will make it as an AFL player is if he attaches himself to Jack Viney over the pre season and attacks every single contest with the same enthusiasm as Jack does.

Otherwise he is just a bog average player with so-so skills, no defensive work rate and no leg speed.

The scrapping of the sub rule and fewer interchanges will help Michie. He's an accumulator of possessions who needs time on the ground. He's well down the pecking order as an inside mid, but is one player that I'd class as legitimate depth. Love to see him dominate at Casey, and when given a chance in the seniors, play some good football.

I prefer him to a few other depth players on our list.

Wing is probably where he's least suited with his lack of leg speed. He was a clearance machine for Peel. That hasn't fully translated to AFL level. He's still building up the engine to get around the ground. If he can do that he'll be a much improved player. His skills and decisions in traffic are very good.

I'd like to say he can play Round 1 but realistically he'll have to force his way into the side again.

Glad he's been kept. Can do a lot worse for depth. Terlich remaining and Viv delisted would've just been wrong.

Casey.

Waste of a pick.

The 24th pick in the Rookie Draft?

We 'wasted' the 24th pick in the rookie draft?

How does one waste nothing?

They would have been better off plucking some youngster who was training with the squad - not Michie.

And have you seen those 2 Casey boys play?

Highly doubt it.

Viv is a good player. If youre talking depth he is about 5 steps up from the usual depth players we have had the last 5 years

Anyone hating on him is ridiculous

Nope. I've seen Michie. That was enough.

Hard to take you serious on your player analysis considering you still rate Stefan Martin as a complete spud in the AFL..

Its fair to say majority of supporters and even coaches see Viv as a pretty good midfield depth who can come in and play a role straight away like he did in the 2nd half of the year.

The fact you say Michie is a horrid footballer again clearly shows you are clearly way out of your depth.

Apologies.

Your player recognition and footy analysis reigns supreme.

I remain humbled.

Admitting to being humble could lay you open to suspension on this forum, for not complying with majority behavior. :-)

Would they?

This way a player gets a year to prove something - if we picked up a kid we would be inclined to pump at least 2 years of development into him.

Maybe for something, probably for nothing.

If Michie is a waste - he is wasting the least important avenue of getting on the list and only for a year.

But, sweat the small stuff if you want to.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
