How does one pronounce "Hulett"? I assumed "Hull-ett" but thought I heard others say "Hew-lett"?

Maybe we just call him Packard.

Angus says hi!

Hi Angus!

Hey Angus, did you think that you were more prepared to play AFL because of your talent, build, and the position you were asked to play?

Oh, you did?

Thanks for stopping by Angus - I appreciate context.

Interesting watching his interview on MFC site, he describes himself as a big agressive marking forward, and part of me was thinking Mitch Clark...

Hopefully our recruiters are doing better psychological assessment now.

I can't believe he's 18. He would definitely have been the one who bought the booze for his mates.

Spot on there 'P-man', I thought he was another mature age recruit that I hadn't heard about.

Looks a strong kid though, really interested to watch his progress.

Went along to training this morning. First time I've seen Hulett, he is one big boy. Very similar body shape to Vanders.

i hope he gets a run this weekend. Excited to see him crash a few packs too.

Wormburner - I haven't had the chance to see him.

Where would you see him playing at this stage? Flank?  Forward? Back?

Hopefully eventually KPP forward or back?

To me he looks like he'd be a third tall up forward, from the limited amount I've seen of him I don't think he's ready to be KPP forward yet.  He'll worry a few opposition players with his height and size though....bring it on!

He looked the goods at training this morning. He certainly had no trouble finding the sticks.

Wonder if he is any chance they may give him a run this weekend?

Back to Vanders for a moment. He was next to M Jones on the weekend and was quite a bit taller. Both are listed at 188cm. Find it hard to believe that Matt is that tall and Aaron that short. It is a good situation for us when an irresistible force like him is behind N. Jones, Viney, Tyson and Vince in the midfield pecking order. Starting to get good depth running through the middle

He stood next to Hogan at one stage and he honestly not much shorter. Would love to know the players actual height.

Wouldn'thurt the MFC website to actually update the players height and weight you know....

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
