didn't watch the game
but judging by stats, it looks like our backline took a huge thumping

not one defender standing out and their i50 marking and i50 conversion far superior

and i thought our defence was our strongest line!

I'm not sure how the Toump escapes notice. Had a shocker and happy for him to join Bail and Howe out the door this week.

So slow

He did some good things (amongst some bad) but I'd be happier for Stretch and ANB to play ahead of him. They seem like natural footballers.

Is Max King able to come in for Howe? Why don't we just give him a go. Now's not the time to be shite scared of trying a couple of kids. Hell, I'd even give Jayden Hunt a run before the season's out.

I'm not against dropping Howe but we're not going to be going in even taller next week, especially given our opponent is Essendon (they don't really have a ruckman).

Almost tough to work out who to lose this week. Probably has to be Spencer, seeing as Gawn has more presence in the middle.

That was a big mistake tonight, going in too top heavy.

You're probably right but I'm working on the basis that Howe did fark all and Spencer could come out.

Next 4 weeks we need to be trying to put our best team on the park as they are 'winnable'. After that if we go 1-3... Play the kids!

Should have left Spencer out and played Fitz back on Sinclair allowing him to go into the ruck when Sinclair did same.

Was amazed we played Hogan, Dawes & Spencer up in Darwin....

I don't think Fitzy would have made much of a difference.

In comparison to our performance against Geelong we weren't winning hit outs or stoppages which was a big factor in our last win. We also struggled to maintain any semblance of forward pressure for the whole game. Yes the Eagles skills were better than ours but it didn't help that they were streaming through the middle of the ground loose because we didn't have enough runners. Losing Brayshaw was a killer, I think with the selection of talls it was always going to be hard to go with them for the full 120 minutes. Hopefully we get H back next week, debut Harmes & drop Bail & Jones.

I've got to say, how Spencer played ahead of Fitzpatrick in Darwin is beyond me.

Matt Jones was woeful again, I don't know why he keeps getting picked, he lacks defensive pressure and does not win his own ball very often. I don't understand how we can bomb it down into our forward 50 so often and only have an opposition player take the mark. Where is the pressure from our forwards.

bail was only there to make up the numbers, better to give a younger kid a chance.

Howe, a spectator with no defensive side to his game when he in the forward line.

Tyson is wasteful with the ball and looks to be a lazy in that he appears to seldom chase his man.

the umps were not the best, but we well and truly lost this with our poor disposals, brain fades, inability to tackle correctly and inability to cover opposition players who seemed to run around without a Melbourne player near them.

Spencer and Gawn both did reasonably well, whoever we put up against Nat would have been done over, so no shame there. These guys are our future they need to get senior game time. They will improve.

I see no reason to blame roos for this as its the players out there we had chances, the fact that the eagles kicked so badly kept us in the game until the last quarter when our players just rolled over and played dead...

I think it's safe to assume that the push in the back rule is pretty much dead and buried.

Unless, of course, you land on somebody's back that is already on the ground.

All weekend I have seen players bending over to pick the footy up (as everybody is taught to do) and then getting blatantly pushed from behind. Every time it has resulted in one of three things. Either the player in front goes to ground and the 'pusher' runs on and gets the ball, or, the player in front lands on the ball and subsequently has to immediately dispose of it from his disadvantaged position, or, inexplicably, the player in front lands on the ball and the 'pusher' jumps on him and holds the ball in and gets a free for holding the ball.

WTF is going on with our game?

Light week on the track this week.

Hopefully Brayshaw comes up.

JKH to come in along with Harmes.

We rebound and win our first game following a Darwin match next week.

Nothing more to be said about tonight.

I reckon Brayshaw will be weeks! Bail, M Jones, Toumpas, Howe Insipid!

Why Riley didn't play and JKH in these conditions again reeks of selection ineptitude!

Must sicken the likes of Garlett and Hogan (skilled forwards) to see dropped chest marks (Bail and M.Jones) off their work.

I'm frustrated at and for our club. Our efforts in the Northern Territory this season is making the whole deal look like a waste. We're not gonna get members up there by watching the ball slip through fingers.

Jeremy Howe being a star is the biggest con going around the league. Let's hope most clubs only watch his highlights and not full Melbourne games as they pursue him.

When the effort drops off enormously (like in the 4th term) it's evident who is still hungry. Viney never fails to impact through 4 quarters. I'm sure Brayshaw would've done similar had he not got that neck injury

STOP GETTING IN THE WAY DAWES. YOU ARE STILL PLAYING LIKE YOU'RE NOT PART OF THE TEAM FOR 80% OF THE GAME. (Good to get that off my chest, like the sherrin does on many occasions in the NT)

Garlett's forward pressure is worth it's weight in gold

JUMP GAWN, JUMP!

ANB is starting to fill Brayshaw and Hogan territory. Very promising game

Not a perfect game, but Watts is basically our cleanest player. He's not running into trouble much. That foot always does something

Went in too tall but didn't have a lot of other options with Dawes not able to play ruck.

Would like to see Harmes come up for a run next week and depending on match ups big Fitz...

Fitz another NQR player, similar to both Bail and M Jones! Nup none should be on the list next year!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
