Looking at the team named and at our injury list i rhink that this team is just about the best we could muster this week.

Given all the adversity and the fact that the game is at Kardinia Park (it is not a stadium in any way, shape or form) The team goes there with nothing to lose and I would expect them to concentrate on doing the small things right from minute to minute during the game regardless of the scores and the game situation.

Not expecting a miracle, but will be disapointed if we drop our pants all together.

Last week during the game Hogan came off numerous times getting extensive work on his hammy. Id rather him miss a week then play and injure it and miss 3 or 4. With the bye next week it gives him 2 weeks rest.

I hope the players arent going into the game with the mindset they used to have when they knew they wouldnt win and they just hoped to compete.

At least we are going in with 2 known ruckman who actually play that position.

I'm not gonna bother looking at the score much.

I reckon we have picked a damage side.

Damage them if we can catch them and good job too

The only positive il take out of this game is that its another game into the likes of Viney Toumpas Brayshaw Tyson Stretch ANB.

Theres our future right there.

That's about it. Can't remember ever being less enthusiastic about a game. I know and the club knows we're not going to win.

All a bit depressing really.

I think a black cat has crossed our path

Blue and white ones actually

But bloody hell, not even Hogan to play..

Who the hell is hob to kick goals?

Who is going to mark in the forward line??

Who is gong to share the ruck work??

Good Lord.

Have been away from the Interweb for the best part of 24 hours only to be greeted by what is clearly to most pitiful looking line up this year.

We, are, fugged.

Wow really excited this week!!! We have our C Grade team playing, our B graders are injured.

I just sit here and wonder why clubs like the Eagles can reignite every 2 years and our misery of a club takes 10.

Hey Jacko.....don't talk hope to me until this club can manage to drag itself out of the bottom 4 and actually string together at least 2 wins in a row.

Another year another month of June where we are still irrelevant as a football team.

This will be a bloodbath unsuitable for children.

The only solace is that Clark isn't playing to kick what would surely be at least 6 goals against us.

Surely Gawn is a better forward than Spencer though?

IMO, they're seriously on par.

Agree! I would even include (assuming best form) Vandenberg, Grimes and Trengrove at the expense of Cross (goal should be to that he is forced out of the side by younger players demanding his spot), Toumpas (not quite there yet but improving) and JKH (also not quite there but improving).

So 8 of my best 22 out!

No Hogan, Salem, Garland, Kent, vandenBerg, Frost, JKH, Pedersen or Grimes. This is a bad team. We have our core midfield though (Jones, Vince, Viney, Tyson, Brayshaw, Cross, Toumpas) so I'd hope we are able to compete through the middle. I'm worried about the forward line and I'm worried about defensive match ups though.

I'd love to see the club justify why Fitzpatrick has not been selected in the absence of Pedersen and now Hogan.

Really?

He's played all year in defence. He's also mainly struggled as a forward at AFL level.

Given we've got a half-baked Dawes in the side without Frost or Pedersen, it's no surprise at all we've gone with Spencer as the other 'forward' instead of Fitzpatrick.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
