So I say what I heard and add that it is probably excited clutterback from people not in the know.

Then I get told it stinks from WJ who has done the same thing in the Carlilse thread only that, was at a toffy dinner (he didnt pay for).

Seems odd.

Hey Franky,

I didn't say it stinks; only that you would have to be delusional to believe we can get him ahead of Geelong.

And it wasn't a dinner at which I got my mail about Carlisle from but a breakfast and while I didn't pay for the meal, there's no such thing as a free breakfast and I did give a donation for the very worthy cause which was the purpose of the function.

I hope that clarifies the situation. The only thing I found odd was that I couldn't bring myself to stick it up to the table host given Melbourne had given Collingwood a pasting on the Saturday before.

And now I hear of one on one meetings with Paul Roos in the Board Room. Have to be a DH not to think there is whiff of new life.

I can tell you two things:

1. We only ever approached adelaide with a one pick offer for danger.

2. If he leaves there is ZERO chance it will to us.

Yeah, it's probably more likely to be an underground carpark at 2:00am with Roos wearing a trench coat while a cigarette dangles from his mouth.

Paul Connor's?

If so, he also manages Tom Lynch.

When did the meeting take place?

How is this thread still going?

People like us keep posting.

Edit: Unintentionally rude so I edited myself.

And he manages a bunch of our players, whom Roos et al may be wanting to trade etc.

A very long bow to connect a Connors/Roos meeting to any specific player let alone Danger.

I can see him going to Hawthorn, especially if they move Lake on and maybe a couple of other players.

Equalisation at its finest if this actually happened, especially if they win the premiership.

Good list management.

Hawthorn have basically built their current success around a couple of good drafts, just like Geelong did. The only difference is Hawthorn have probably been able to top up better.

Good list management and making the most out of a [censored] up system. I'd expect us to do the same if we were in a similar position.

Different timelines CB.

Geelongs drafts were 14-16 years ago now with Selwood added later.

Hawthorns were 9-11 years ago with Rioli added later.

Hawthorn lost one of the best players ever to play the game to this same system and picked up Frawley, I know which one out of the two I'd prefer.

The issues is more that players have elected to go there hence held a gun to their current clubs to get the trade done. However, this is not a new system as trading has been around for decades.

Hawthorn, I heard last year about this time from a person that has some links to Hawthorns Recruiting that Frawley will be a Hawk followed by Dangerfield in 2015, his last comment was Hawthorn always get who they want. If Dangerfield gets to Hawthorn, free agency will be changed. I reckon the point system for free agency similar to what they are bringing in for Father/Son and academy picks. For example Dangerfield is worth x points, Hawthorns Pick 18 is worth y, if it was a point system Hawthorn would loss its first 3 picks in this years draft and Adelaide would secure those picks. If the AFL doesn't the top 6 teams will remain on top as they will get good players through free agency and also keep getting kids through the draft

Hawthorn would therefore be the second best result.

Previous AFL Footy Manager is a hawks fan and current one an ex Hawks Footy Manager. Interesting how so many new rules favour the Hawks. Which club has been the major beneficiary of FA.

Which club has lost the most players?

Hawthorn lost Franklin and picked up Frawley, how have they benefited the most?

Free agency was player driven, nothing to do with the AFL wanting to bring it in.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
