Clisby was a shrimp and Nicholson was a jet who kicked out of bounds very well.

They were both squibs at times.

I wonder if you'd tell them that to their faces you keyboard warrior!

At the start of the year I was very much in the 'Clisby over Terlich' camp when we were debating best 22. Clearly the coaches thought differently and we never really got to see what he was made of.

Nicholson, well his lack of skill was always going to cut his career short, but he showed plenty of early promise (including a fantastic game in a win over Richmond in 2011. Oh, those were the days!) and always gave his all.

Not surprised with either delisting but good luck to them both.

There's no doubt our list needs change, but go easy on some of these blokes being delisted at this time of year. It must be a bloody awful feeling for them. A bit of sensitivity wouldn't go astray.

Well said.

Would the "I need my Viagra" brigade please seek inspiration elsewhere, rather than getting your jollies potting blokes who've had a crack for the Red and Blue, and who now would be feeling some distress.

Really liked Nico he gave his all, fit as a bull and hard at it but he just couldn't seem to improve his skills for some reason.

Best of luck.

Good luck to them and thanks for their service.

Neither guy can claim they didn't try. Nicho especially always gave his all.

I wonder if we'll try to trade Blease or Strauss before delisting. Might get a pick upgrade or something.

That was my initial reaction. We'll see if we can pull a Demonland special and trade Blease, Strauss, Tapscott and pick 82 to St. Kilda for pick 1.

Geez ...... these guys are a hundred times better than most of us posters.

They were picked, they tried, and didn't make it to sustain it at the required level.

Thanks, and good luck with whatever you do next in life.

I've not yet seen you measure up to that "frailty" Bob!

To be fair, there is a blind man that has never seen the sun.

I thank the pair for their time. They each managed to play a few games of AFL, which is a good effort, but it was the right decision to let them go.

I liked Nicho and didn't really see much of Clisby to make a judgement. I wish them well.

Are we going to let anyone go who actually played seniors this year?

Getting rid of some guys in the twos is great, but I don't believe they are fully responsible for this shemozzle, any thoughts?

The players we recruit will probably replace the duds in the ones, who will next year be in the twos before the cycle repeats itself.

You have to get rid of players to make way for new, hopefully better ones, of course you cut the dead wood from the twos.

It's disappointing we didn't see more of Clisby this year. Don't think he was a long term player but I did think he could be slightly better depth than some.

Not sure about this soft notion. Got the feeling he was decent at the contest for an undersized defender and he was a good runner from the backline. Kicking not perfect but better than Grimes and Terlich. Overall I'd say he and Terlich were about even so the FD made their choice for the more experienced and bigger guy.

Nicholson. Well we were all were seduced by the athleticism but he just doesn't have the talent.

Surprised they just did 2 to start with but I guess there's not a heap of benefit going early on some of the others. Wait and see who's out there by way of other delistings and how the drafts are shaking up.

The lack of pressure coming from the twos is directly responsible for the shemozzle.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
