Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

I don't know what it is, but I have this gut feeling that we'll have both Clark and Jurrah on our list next year....

Geez I hope I'm right, it'd be the stuff dreams are made of.

take this...you'll feel better

Can almost be guaranteed one thing in all of this and that is "we will be screwed over" no matter what happens.

It's the Melbourne/AFL way!

Like when Alves went to North - didn't they let Aylett adjudicate?

Lol, unfortunately I can't blame that.

The reason why I mention Jurrah, is Roos was quizzed about him on 360 around a month ago - he looked awkward and sheepish.

Anyways, we can only dream.

Or perhaps he looked awkward and sheepish about the person in question given his exhaustive campaigning against domestic violence?

Just in relation to my earlier post, about Mitch talking to Other clubs, My source is in the Media, I work in the AFL media, I hear things, so I pass them on, and I am very confident with info I was told about Mitch.

I was just talking to the receptionist at work. Theoretically, one could assert that my relationship with my wife was on the rocks because i have been "seen with other women".

I highly doubt Mitch Clark would treat the MFC that way (leaving to go to another club) after the way his contract with the MFC went down.

I think he has more integrity than that.

The clash jumper situation has proved beyond any doubt that they are fools. Let the foolery continue...

These are the people that will sit in judgement on wether or not we get a priority pick. Those who hired Tom Jones for the grand final & those who made the clash jumper decision. Give us a break !

Sadly it's what I've heard too.

All scuttlebutt at this stage, of course.

The thing I keep coming back to is that the denizens of afl media has no idea Lyon was defecting to Freo til it happened, nor Buddy to Swans, and only scant details about the Peptides.

Hopefully it's just another of those smoke / assholes rather than smoke / fire situations.

Mitch's manager has stated publicly they have received inquiries from clubs other than the MFC about if Mitch is interested in coming back to football, but if you look at Mitch's twitter, and so on he seems to still feel connected very deeply to the MFC, I can't see any way he will go to another club, particularly when he has recently come back to Melbourne, to me that takes the go home factor out of it, if he was gunna play for Freo for example he could easily have just stayed in Perth

Skilton sacked Alves. He was a sacked player when Baras gave him a ring out of the blue and the rest is history. I heard that directly from Alves.

The way I see it would be that if Mitch wants to resume his career he would make a call about whether it is here or back in WA.

Given he is on our list and the positions that the WA clubs finished on the ladder, it would be extremely unlikely to see him go into the draft and get picked up by them that way. So Freo (or WCE) would need to trade for him, whilst I don't think the MFC would play TOO hard in that trade, they won't just give him away. I doubt that too many supporters would wish him ill if this situation eventuates.

If he is staying in Melbourne, I think most MFC supporters WOULD be filthy if he is talking to other clubs instead of resuming with the MFC.

I would be more inclined to believe that other clubs are talking to Clark's manager (as opposed to him talking to them) as that would be fairly standard practice.

Now, you say you are in the AFL media as if that gives your rumours some sort of credence. This is an internet forum, we all use assumed names (unless this site just happens to be full of people whose real names happen by pure coincidence to be the same as many of the clubs' players), and we can all lay claim to all sorts of knowledge regardless of whether it is true or invented. You may well work in the AFL media, but as what? I work for a major global software and hardware giant, but that doesn't mean I know what is going on behind closed doors.

On the other hand, as cynical as I have been about some of his posts, GNF does have a pretty much impeccable record when it comes to "insider" knowledge and comings and goings at the MFC...and his reports/comments seem to be diametrically opposed to yours.

I suppose all will be revealed in good time, but forgive me if I take your comments about Mitch having no interest in the MFC, as having very little substance.

In the end there are probably only three scenarios.

He doesn't play again.

He plays for us.

He plays in WA.

I won't begrudge him any of these, because IMO what is best for his well being will be the deciding factor.

This point gets lost in the wash. Players rarely are out there spruiking themselves - it is now almost exclusively left to the domain of player managers. And whether a players wants to stay at a club or leave, those blokes are forever talking to the clubs and clubs to them - getting a feel of players worth and interest so they can get the best deal for them at their current club or get them to the club of the players choosing.

I found it interesting that it was reported in a paper that one of the club was having a list management meeting this week and they have a regular meeting with all interested parties in the club every 2 weeks

So would lots of clubs be talking to Mitch's manager - absolutely.

To answer all the questions about Mitch being on our list.

Qouted from the press release about Nicho and clisby being delisted

The Demons have now made three list changes, after dual Geelong premiership player Shannon Byrnes announced his retirement following a foot injury in July.

The first list lodgement for AFL clubs is October 31.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
