Barrett might be taking the fact that other clubs have contacted Mitch and running with it, I can't see how Mitch wouldn't feel he owes the club

Sounds like Barrett just trying to pry things out.

I don't think so. Not now the club has come out.

Barrett had a quote from Clark's manager. The Club comes out effectively saying Mitch hasn't spoken to them about it, saying the expect Mitch would talk to them. I take that to mean they (Mitch or manager) have been talking to others.

Would a team want to take the risk on him after the shet we just went through with his foot?

What im worried about is because he is delisted, and just say he decides to comeback next year, isnt he fair game for any club to draft?

Maybe we could get a special compensation from the AFL that because he had depression and the special circumstances that he be allowed to go to his club of choice which would be us.

Go onto the MFC website and you will see that he is still on our list. We don't have to redraft him, just let him remain on the list!

It would be bloody heartbreaking if we got bent over by a bloke we bent over backwards for.

There has been no quotes from his manager or himself saying that he does not want to play with Melbourne, something a lot of people are ignoring.

I would have thought that should Mitch be looking at a comeback and doing so with the Dees then it would be a very simple thing to affect.

That this isnt the path apparently predicted and advertised suggests to me he is indeed seeking an alternative home.

Ill wait for something to actually happen though.

Recently GNF said Clark would only play for the Dees. Wonder what he knows?

Maybe not as much as people give him credit for.

At the moment it's Damian Barrett's word over GNF's. No other sources provided.

I'm sticking with GNF, whose track record is solid, until there is some sort of reputable source or, preferably, direct word from Clark or his manager.

I also would have thought that should be wanting to leave his manager could just have come out and said it. Instead, he simply said Clark's looks likely to want to play again next year.

It's all very weird.

If this isn't true, he or his manager will come out and make a statement soon. If we don't hear anything, he can GAGF.

Yep. One thing they can do is just come out and say it.

Worries me that Mahoney seems to be out of the loop, but perhaps it all ties in with what Grand New Flag said.

And there's also still no comment saying he would only considering coming back to us to repay the support..... This from a bloke who tweets regularly! So clearly if they remain silent you can choose to have your head in the sand, others will take that as a real indication of something more.

If he comes back for anyone other than us he really is the scumbag that Brisbane supporters said he was.

He is allowed to go to a Perth team...but we better get decent compensation...top 20 pick

Should be de-registered if he tries this [censored].

IF so, then yes, absofreakinglutely!!! IMO....

how?

Smoke and mirrors, taking the pressure off him by playing games etc.

I would be very surprised if we haven't been talking to him, but I could certainly see a situation where the club put faith in Clark's values by signing off on a severance package that removed any 'debt of service' if you will and allowed a clean break.

Depression is a volatile disease, I know this first hand, but you'd have to be a real dog to come back and go elsewhere. Depression sucks, but it doesn't remove all responsibility on a sufferer.

And yes, it is just football. But if MC leaves and goes to a different Melbourne club and they say 'it's just football', then he can go do something else because this is all part of it.

I repeat that Mitch could come out and say something to stop the whispers, especially if he's well enough for his manager to announce he might make a comeback.

half agree. But if he did stay in perth and played for a WA team then it wouldnt bother me because I presumed he was back in Perth permanently. I thought Freo would make sense because they need a forward to help pav, but if he was end up at a melbourne club id be angry

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
