Havent given it more than 5 mins glance but there will need to be some change or we'll get done like the proverbial.

Just off the top of my head some considerations for inclusion:

JKH, Georgiou would head up my inclusions

Id give serious thinking towards Tappy, and Clisby and unless Blease is for the chop he must have put up his hand

Nicho M Jones Terlich dont look up to the job

Garlo...wtf was he doing half the time. Poor game, might need a refresh

Salem ?

Bail ?

Not changes for the sake of it, just to pick it up a little and reward those who want to play and slap those that dont

Get mr bean in and drop Frawley. Develop Georgiou with the last half of the season.

JKH for Salem (give the kid a rest)

Tappy for Terlich who is injured I think.

Blease for M Jones

Toumpas for Bail

Can we do any worse than today???

Mitchie in for anyone against his old team. Poetic.

Posted

IN: JKH, Blease, Tapscott

OUT: Gawn (love him, but we're too tall and slow with all those big guys in), Nicholson (omit, never to play again please), Terlich (injured)

Posted

Terlich (inj) - Michie

Salem (rested) - JKH

Nicholson (omit) - McKenzie. Nicho was ok, but McKenzie is the more reliable tagger with better both way game. Harder at it as well.

FB: Garland Frawley Jetta

HB: Grimes Dunn Howe

C: M. Jones Jones Vince

HF: Bail Dawes Watts
FF: Kent Gawn Pedersen

Foll: Jamar Tyson Viney

Int: JKH McKenzie Michie

S: Barry

Let's go for contested ball winning and trial Michie against his old side.

Tyson and Viney need to be used at half forward more to rest through the season. It's pointless asking them to take up the slack without Cross and for Jones and Vince to be our only experienced centre square mids. Sure I'd love the team to be faster and more skillful and I do doubt Michie's speed, skill and defensive ability but we have to give him a shot.

Koby Stevens played really well for the dogs today in the absence of Griffen. And Roos can't complain of lack of classy mids and yet be stuck with the same bunch each week.

I'm not saying we should tank but it's time to consider some individual development as well as team development. That means Gawn and Michie.

Firstly, I only saw a few moments of today's game, but it seems that Garland is really struggling, as he did last week.

Georgiou by all accounts has been doing all that is asked of him.

Should they be switched next week? (Or Garlo actually be rested fully?)

Not Garlo bashing but is he contributing to the cause at present? If he is down on confidence, could playing at a lower level, especially with a regularly pressured defensive half, do him good?

Blease must finally get a go. Terlich seems injured but should be dropped anyway. Kent and Salem have done nothing for 2 weeks. As for Nicho, how he got a game this week I'll never know.

JKH will definitely come in and Tapscott and Georgiou should be considered. Barry and Gawn to keep their spots.

Slipped my mind the Jordie would be back . I think like Jaded would have to put him in

Possibly:

In: McKenzie, JHK, Michie , Georgiou
Out: Nicholson, Terlich, Salem Garland

Posted

A big week for changes in my eyes

INS- georgio, blease, jkh, tapscott, michie

OUTS- GARLAND, terlich, Salem, Nicholson, Kent

Posted

Terlich, Nicholson are both shyte at this level. Delist both FFS.

Grimes needs to keep his feet.....I am fed up with him falling over at the contest.

We know that Bail, Terlich, Nicholson & Matt Jones are taking us nowhere, they are not good enough.

We are very certain that Salem & JKH have many years ahead of them and should be managed and played sparingly for the remainder of the season.

Therefore, in my opinion the above 6 players should be rotated in and out of the side for the remainder of the season to allow Blease, Tapscott and Michie to all have the remaining games which in the case of Tapscott and Blease will make or break their careers at MFC.

I would spew up if Blease & Tapscott were to end up succeeding at other Clubs when they haven't had anywhere near the chances that some others have had.

I'm now with titan on Garland who needs a spell. Had a stinker every week since returning.

Team needs a change up with Blease and Tapscott looking to have done enough to get an opportunity. If they leave and flourish at another club without getting a chance this year it would be devastating.

Matt Jones and Bail aren't future prospects imo and should be making way for those that are, starting now. Jones stays another week because we are starved for run and carry.

This many changes are unlikely, but I wouldn't complain:

In: Blease, Tapscott, JKH, McKenzie, Georgiou

Out: Terlich (inj), Bail, Salem, Nicholson, Garland

Why people call for Matt jones to be dropped every week is beyond me. The bloke provides some run and genuine leg speed through the midfield and finds the footy, he makes some mistakes but who doesn't. Nicho has had his papers stamped today, his no good. Garland was terrible and I wouldn't be suprised if Georgiou comes in for him if TMac isn't right.

All sound suggestions. I'd perhaps leave Frawley in and place him in the forward line. And kick Nicho out...

How long is tmac out for?

Oh good point. Totally forgot him.

Garland might be nervous. He's a favourite of mine, but he's horribly out of touch and his confidence is shot. That is what no pre season does to you I guess.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
