I'm sitting at work by myself, carrying on like an absolute lunatic. Had to listen on the ABC - can't wait to see the replay later!

We were at home listening to same broadcast, we had it up full volume, it felt like we were at the ground. We were riding every contest.

Was great to belt the song. I Wonder if the neighbours heard.

I really enjoyed the ABC coverage as it was. I don't listen to the radio often, but golly their commentary leaves Derwaine and co for dead.

yeah the commentary was more like old days commentary; more excitement, & less technical dribble. more spontaneous. its more engaging to the senses.

Mike Williamson would be proud.

Wowee.

As a very side note, watch Frawley's body language in the song. Lots and lots of camaraderie there - be interesting to see what happens next.

Well, I don't think he would have much of a case arguing that Roos hasn't met his side of the bargain where improvement is concerned.

I've probably only been to the footy by myself a handful of times and tonight was one of them. I watched from space station height for the first three quarters then went down and stood at the back behind the goals in the Ponsford for the final quarter in case the game got tight and I could drown my frenzied squealing in amongst similar pitch. I'm not really contributing anything to this thread, I just haven't had the usual chance to debrief on the game with friends and family on the walk back to the car, and have had to settle for vigorous hugs from strangers after the final siren.

That feeling immediately after the siren. Gold. Very proud of the team tonight.

Wow! What a game of two halves.

Dean Kent! Love that guy. Salem, never felt more confident that he would kick it.

Jamar. How does a guy get smashed in the first half then rebound to help win the game. A wiley veteran. And 2-1 all day and did the job.

We went from a deer in the head lights early when Essendon's pressure was so fierce to the hunter and we even let our pray sneak away right at the end before catching them again.

Really? I hate Bummer fans as much as the next guy but this is fairly mundane thing to do (try and put the opposing player off). Lucky Salem has ice in his veins.

I've also heard Collingwood do it, but no other club. It's mundane when the kick comes from a dodgy free kick, but in my experience exclusive to the pies and bombers when it's a potential game sealer from a mark. Just ugly supporting.

Was just interesting to see a lot of enthusiasm there - exactly the kind of excitement we need to get into the playing group, probably him most of all.

Careful about that last line. ASADA will be onto him! :)

What a game I thought we were gone at quarter time, they looked terrible and in the second quarter they weren't much better, but after half time, wow what a difference.

There was no run in the first half and we just marked, stopped and propped waiting for something, I'm not sure what, but after half time they took the game on and looked great. That's what's been missing in all the games we've lost, but should have won this year .

They can do it and now they know they can do it.

We will some more games this year, starting with next week.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

And to any melbourne supporter reading this, you have, and always will be irrelevant you snow seeking, sheltered, sidefringe wearing, collar repping, exclusively craft beer drinking, pea hearted bunch of absolute jerk-offs.

Well I must admit I am enjoying a lovely Tawny right this moment... Pip pip.

Just watched the last two minutes vision. The chain of handballs were nice and I loved Crossy's pass, but the win by Pedersen in the back pocket and the rocket handball out to Jones, and the effort of McKenzie on the wing were the reason that goal happened. Well done lads, you just won your team the game.

Yes... if that comeback doesn't give them the self belief they need to start winning a few against quality opposition, nothing will.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
