All players, club officials and supporters at all footy matches played everywhere in Australia this weekend should wear black arm bands to mourn the death of our beloved game!

I've got half a mind to come dressed in swathes of bubble wrap and a tutu. Can you picture me twirling delicately through the crowds as I try not to make contact with anyone around me?

How appropriate that this is the weekend when there will be a lot of pink stuff worn.

The game that Dimitriou inherited and swore to protect is no longer.

Wearing black arm bands is a way of showing respect for the death of a club great or friend.

As outraged as I am about the Viney decision, it does not come anywhere close to death.

And hardly appropriate to make a political statement like this on a night where we want to spread awareness about breast cancer, and the thousands who die each year fighting for their lives in a hospital bed.

As someone who has lost a relative and close friend to breast cancer I hope this thread is seriously taking [censored].. Stupid and taseless considering the this great cause far outweighs a kid missing out for two weeks.

Bit of respect.

Sorry, DD. No disrespect intended. However, the entire footy community is up in arms over this, and they are entitled to ensure the AFL gets the message loud and clear. I have no doubt that can be done, while still maintaining the integrity of the Pink Lady event.

I am all for it Vagg but lets not overshadow this great cause.

Please, please can someone make that into a sign/banner

Maybe not this week as it will no doubt have a msg regarding breast cancer awareness, and depending on the outcome of the appeal, perhaps the players should run through that at the Tigers game?

Black netball bibs with "DON'T FORGET TO PIROUETTE" on the front and back.

this would be a great Idea to make for the week after this, selling the bibs at all games...

the front: Don't Forget

the back: TO PIROUETTE

PJ_12345 has suggested on 'changes...' thread that bubble wrap armbands would work. Funny, and to the point, and easy to do.

How about a sign that reads

'Don't think, D̶o̶ Pirouette!'

Better stop the banners too.. someone might hit their head on it. Best the players just run around it and wave.
